The currency was good as there was a publication date of the source even when there was no copy right date giving it a scoure of 4. When writing my booklet I use the information alot which gave it a score of 5 for relevance. The authority was not very good which was similar to the other C Net source as it did provide an author and there was contact information for the author. However, There was not information on what made this person an expert on the topic, what the authors credentials were or if the author was qualified to write on this topic which caused the score of authority to be a 2. Once again similarity to the other C Net source the accuracy of the information was supported by facts and could be varified by other sources which caused me to give the accuracy of the information a score of 4 even when there was a slight bias.
It is the quality of his analysis that earns him the score of an eight. For example, Kevin identifies “patriotism” as a device and justifies its use by stating, “Adams invokes a sense of patriotism to call her
I received good feedback on both my learning journal and my first units assignment. I lost one point in a single assessment, but it wasn’t explained so
Originality comes from new ideas that is never seen before. Plagiarism is when ideas and words are taken from another source. Looking at Mrs. Aidas by Sheila Kaye-Smith and Sanctuary by Nella Larsen, the two stories were published at different times yet have the same plot making each story predictable to the readers. How do readers consider what is plagiarism when reading a work of literature? To be considered a plagiarism is when the ideas and words are taken from another source.
Based on the grading rubric for this essay I would give this student a score around 20-24. For mechanics, she followed all instructions, uploaded readable doc to dropbox, pasted in in the D.B, and met the minimum word count. For originality, I can’t really say because she did not include a work cited reference at the end. For contents, she answered the prompt, addressed the question, used direct quotes and paraphrased. The essay is very readable and the mechanic is good.
In any school you have attended, plagiarism is a situation that a writer should not put themselves in under any circumstances. When reading the essay “Something Borrowed,” Malcolm Gladwell gave insight into the flaws of plagiarism that writers may not have thought about before. The first being that plagiarism is never acceptable (927). The second issue with plagiarism is recognizing the differences that can or cannot “inhibit creativity” (931). Being inspired by another person's work can help and guide you to build your own ideas, but simply taking their work and claiming it as yours is not permitted.
This is why he believes by publishing names of students who plagiarized correct. This way students of his class will understand that they must change their habits earlier on in their career. It will be clear to them than that plagiarism is not going to help them in the long run and only create much more severe consequences in the real world. These are the main premises of Loye Young's
Another thing to check is if the document bias or there is any reason for it to be. Document c was the most reliable document because it was a primary source and from the views of a type of bystander, not having any bias or reason to have
As I engage this unit’s Read and Attend assignments, I find that my understanding of plagiarism is not as fully developed as I had previously thought. Our Unit 3 Attend assignment shares that “in a general sense plagiarism may be caused by carelessness” and these circumstances frequently precipitate the lack of care required while writing (Bethel University, 2014, p. 11). The academic integrity tutorial provided additional information which I found valuable as well. Common themes within each unit assignment provide strands of continuity, while assisting with a more comprehensive understanding. It is my opinion, the type of plagiarism that is hardest for me to avoid is “plagiaphrasing”, also known as “lazy paraphrasing” (Bethel University, 2014, p. 12).
This is because plagiarism is a very serious offence in the academic world. Consequences are therefore very harsh. Students always strain to write quality non plagiarized essays so as to achieve high grades. However, writing quality and authentic essay papers is not a very easy exercise. First of all, for one to be able to come up with high quality non plagiarized essays, they have to carry our research on the topic of the essay.
Accept or reject innovations In the article Accepting or rejecting innovation written by Jared Diamond, he states the reasons about people accepting or rejecting innovations. The first reason is “relative economic advantage compared with existing technology” which means people will accept the innovations when they think they could make money and save money at the same time. The second reason is “social value and prestige, which can override economic benefit” which means social value could influences whether people will accept the innovations. The last reason is “compatibility with vested interest” which means people will accept or reject the innovations depends on their interests.
It is possible that having any form of review — whether post-lecture quizzes or homework problems or recitations — will account for the difference in exam scores in the study, and that the addition of a second form of review will have little
It’s not fair to the people who actually write what you are stealing because they get no credit for it. There is never anything good that comes from plagiarism. Teachers and college professors know when something is plagiarized. Sometimes the plagiarized material does not meet
There is a misconception that higher standards and stricter honor codes would lead to less plagiarism. The opposite seems to be true. From the first documented honor code in 1736, faculty and students have been required to take the honor pledge and still have to this day. But solely stating the honor code has not proven to improve the integrity of students. These codes are expected to be lived by but have done nothing but become a burden to students and faculty.
This articles made mention of how angry victim may confront the participant who stole their ideas. They also made mention of the fact that most ideas were used with or without their knowledge intentionally and unintentionally in some situations but they never pointed out that plagiarism as students destroys their professional refutation if they want to become big business men and women in the future. Legal repercussions and suspension form schools are also some effects and consequences students who plagiarise go through. Despite these deficiencies, the authors were still able to lay down the necessary argument about plagiarism not to only students but to the public as well. Shonda and stephens provided strong credible points to show the level of anger caused to the owner and the intent to harm their participants as well as conform them since their took their substances with or without their
