Brotherhood is an unbreakable connection of friendship between persons. Loyalty is related to brotherhood by being the indispensable concept of being honest and truthful in their actions. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, characters show loyalty as they obey and protect their master’s despite the consequences. In Gym Candy by Carl Deuker, characters ignore Mick’s actions and remain loyal to him. In Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank, characters show loyalty as they care for their friends and the dead.
In the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini expresses a main idea about loyalty. Throughout the story, the author shows us that a way to be good is to be loyal to family and friends. First of all, because Hassan showed his loyalties lay with Amir, he shows he is honorable. For example, when Hassan and Amir were confronted by Assef and his friends, Hassan protected Amir by threatening Assef with his slingshot. Then Assef backed off and ran away.
“Honesty and loyalty are key. If two people can be honest with each other about everything, that's probably the biggest key to loyalty” Taylor Lautner. This relates to the novel by John Steinbeck Of Mice and Men by showing that two men that are honest with each other will have loyalty in their friendship. George was loyal to Lennie even after all of the scandalous acts, Curley wanted to make sure his wife is safe and another significant example is Candy’s dog was Candy’s best friend. These three examples show that friends should be loyal to the extent that they do not inflict unnecessary suffering like Georges tolerance for Lennie, Curley's allegiance to his wife and Candy’s devotion for his dog.
He deserves loyalty from his crew because he tries to save them, he forgets about his needs, and does not actively put them in danger. Even though Odysseus puts his crew in bad situations at times. Well throughout the journey Odysseus figures out new ways to save and find his way back home. Even when his crew tries to ruin his journey he still keeps an open mind and will do anything for them. And as Mario Puzo once said, “The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, lies in its loyalty to each other.”
He has a natural sense of right and wrong. For example, he understands that treating people with disrespect and unloyalty is wrong, and keeping promises and staying true to his word is right. He consistently stays true to his friends, because he believes that that’s the right thing to do. Furthermore, Huckleberry Finn felt guilty when Muff Potter would thank him, which shows that Huck is not completely lawless and has his own set of morals. Huckleberry can also sense when someone is not a good person.
In the novel Siddhartha, written by Herman Hesse, the hero’s journey is fit perfectly into words, as readers experience the riches of Siddhartha, a wealthy Brahmin’s son, who faces the ultimate question whether there is more for him in the world than within the boundaries of his comfortable life. “In the shade of the house, in the sunshine on the river bank by the boats, in the shade of the sallow wood and the fig tree, Siddhartha, the handsome Brahmin’s son, grew up with his friend Govinda”(1). This is a brilliant representation of Siddhartha’s normal life, as well as the start to this quickly unraveling story. Already briefly mentioned is supporting character Govinda, who will later play an important role in Siddhartha’s journey. Govinda is a friend.
Honestly, Beowulf fits the basic profile of a hero in today’s civilization. He shows his courage and bravery. Beowulf shows that he has compassion for others no matter who they are or where they came from. He is selfless when it comes to risking his own life for people he may not know, such as any hero should. Beowulf represents the population of Herat as a whole.
Giles Corey risked his life because of his loyalty to his family, his stubbornness, and strong-willed personality. Imagine refusing to confess to something one didn’t do because the truth was well known to
(Lee Cp. 23). In conclusion Atticus’s decision to defend Tom, although dangerous, was wise on his part as described in the last paragraph. His family was put in danger, but ultimately was the right thing to do. Not only did he keep his conscience intact but he also possibly saved other black men and women from hate deaths and hate crimes.
One may say that George was being selfish and risking his most valuable friendship. True, Lennie was innocent and it was a mistake, but how many mistakes can he make before everything collapses? Furthermore, George cared for Lennie because he was like a little brother. George gave Lennie maximum protection and support. “George still stared at Curley’s wife.
Basicly he asked Philemon to treat him like he was no longer a slave, but more like a brother. Not only for him, but as someone dear to him as well. The way the letter was written was describing Onesimus as someone equal like himself. He even offered to pay his debt or whatever he was accused of stealing. He gave this advice because he wanted Philemon reputation and Christian love to show through his actions regarding Onesimus.
When you turn on the nightly news and all you see is the bad in the world, the hurt, and the corruption that has engulfed us as a society, it is nice to see someone do something not because they will get paid or become famous, but because they know its simple the right thing to do. This story fits the concept of a hero most similar to Bernardo’s explaination of a hero. Riggs’ saved his family and risked his life not because thats what people would expect but because he had the responsiblity to take care of them. Just like Bernardo states, he did this “because he loves them and wants to”. Riggs displayed the kind of courage it takes to be a hero.
I once was at the county science fair, and one of the judges came to judge me. I explained my science experiment terribly because I was too nervous. I decided to be braver, and I felt like I aced the last 3 judges. At the closing ceremony, the award provider went to my science experiment section and called the names of the winners. I won the third place in the county science fair.
Rikki-Tikki-Tavi Summary A poem is the introduction to Rikki- Tikki-Tavi. The battle between a mongoose Rikki-tikki-tavi and Nag the king cobra. The fight between the mongoose and snake is what the story is about.
My sister and I were coming up the stairs and my sister went to pet my dog but he bit her on the hand and would not let go so started to yell and kick my dog not to be mean but to get him off of my sister. That night I so vividly remember and in the Story it shows the same kind of love so I would say that the theme of the fictional story Rikki-tikki-tavi by Rudyard Kipling is that the love of your family can help you to be brave even when you are scared. Rikki Tikki is a very brave character in this story. He bit, indeed, but did not bite long enough, and he jumped clear of the whisking tail, leaving Nagaina torn and angry.(para.29)This shows that because the family loved him he saved them by fighting Nag. This character trait demonstrates the thesis because he is loved so know is kind of paying them back.
