Luke is a good moral character, he follows the code of chivalry, and he does not have a royal birth. The first piece of evidence is Luke follows the codes of chivalry. For example, he serves the liege/lord, which is Princess Leia, in valour and faith. He courageous followed the orders of Princess Leia. For instance, Luke fought against the Empire and destroyed the Death Star. He also seeks to stop injustice. He follows the code in the movie when he joined the Rebels and fought against the Empire. He stands up to Thorin when he was yelling at Bilbo. Before the journey started Bilbo would not have stood up for himself, but because of this journey Bilbo is more confident in himself. Bravery is an important asset to The Hobbit, without bravery Bilbo would never have went on his journey, the dwarves would have been eaten by the spiders, and Thorin would have died in the Elven Kings dungeon.
Obi-wan Kenobi is a christ figure according to the criteria on page 119. Obi-wan had a confrontation with the dark side, Anakin tried to lure him, just as Jesus had a confrontation with the devil. This jedi master is also very forgiving as Jesus was, Obi-wan forgave Anakin for turning to the dark side and wanted him to come back to the light side. He had disciples such as Anakin before he turned and Luke Skywalker, like Jesus had disciples and ones that weren’t all equally devoted. When confronting Anakin, Obi-wan sacrifices himself to Anakin and is killed but spiritually resurrects in the wilderness when Luke Skywalker needs him.
Bilbo was a perfect example of a true hero. Through his actions he shows others it is possible to be brave but still kind, and fierce but still merciful. The definition of hero depends on the actions and motive of the hero, and what their decisions show
William Thatcher is a better knight from showing chivalry and courtly love in the movie Knight’s Tale. Knights Tale is loosely based on Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. Chivalry is a knights system with moral, religious and social code. Courtly love is how a knight treats a lady with respect and dignity. William shows chivalry and courtly love because he is willing to sacrifice for Jocelyn, he is brave, and he protects the weak.
