I started to learn to create two citations between MLA “Work Cited” bibliography and one APA “References” Bibliography in Library class once a week. I am excited to learn about the citing sources as I did research other classes. I always made mistakes when I did a research paper and I had no idea how to create MLA style, and what was different between MLA format and APA format. The teacher taught me how to write in a paper format and use a Noodle Tools in a computer system. I read MLA handout and APA handout, there are different in a paper formatting, a title page, in-text citation, and reference pages. After I finished read from MLA and APA handout, both MLA and APA looked like the same format. However, they were not the same format after

The inclusion of multiple citations and references can be challenging and it is important to stay organized while composing writing assignments. One of the most recognizable advantages of utilizing the APA style is ensuring that the author of research integrated into my work receives proper recognition. The APA style further serves to provide a consistent base for the document style. Potential readers may then establish an individual’s proficiency pertaining to its content (Bethel University,

This paper will share my response to the questions about APA formatting. According to the Jones & Hurley, (2012) the main parts of an APA formated paper are the Title page, the abstract page, the main body of the paper, and the reference. In addtion, the three major learning takeaways for me was why APA is used, Who should used APA and the amount of items on the citation and reference list. The first take away really caught my attention as I began to review the the notes from Jones & Hurley, (2012) which stated APA was used to help all of the readers to understand the written text which is beig provided.
The role I am playing in the Annotated Bibliography Project is a timeline coordinator, who is responsible for monitor the whole progress of the project to make sure that we would complete every part before due dates. We should be supposed to submit Memo one by Friday class time last week. However, since I did not read the instruction carefully, I failed to remind my group members to finish this assignment on time. Fortunately, Professor Hemstrom extended the deadline for our work delayed due to my carelessness. Although this is an individual work instead of a group work, I am a time line coordinator and I have the responsibility to remind my group members.

Kellie- It is my understanding that 58 students are registered for AP Literature next year and will be placed in only two sections. This is highly concerning as it is not what is best for our brightest students, especially those who have so much at stake (scores, scholarships, etc.). Placing this many students per class will not only make it virtually impossible to conduct writing conferences, an integral part of the course, but will also drastically reduce the amount of individualized attention and could possibly ultimately lower scores on the AP Exam for individual students and our campus alike. Understanding it is necessary to maximize class size, a class of almost 30 students who are reading and writing on a daily basis is not conducive
You would no doubt hand out citations as a rookie police officer, however, as a graduate student writing papers, you don’t want your APA citations to reveal your rookie nature. I do welcome the validation from Schwartz, Landrum, & Gurung (2017) that APA style can have many challenges, and rookie mistakes do happen. For someone that has had no background with writing APA style, the easy manner in which to read An Easyguide to APA Style is appreciated. I only wish I had a photographic memory that could easily refer to all the rules that I’ve read. Since a photographic memory is not part of my brain structure, it’s best for me to remember that I am here to learn and as I tell my own children-to practice hard and try my very best.

In chapter 1 of the APA Manual, the focus was to point out types of articles, ethical and legal standards in publishing, accuracy of scientific knowledge, protecting the rights and welfare of research participants, and protecting intellectual property rights (American Psychological Association, 2017). These sections are intended to help publishers ensure that their research is posted properly. The APA states, “research is complete only when the results are shared with a scientific community” (American Psychological Association, 2017). This means that to share with a community, you must follow the APA guidelines for doing so. When reviewing chapter 1 of the APA Manual, I found it to be very helpful with continuing research.
In the article, " What Is 'Academic ' Writing," the author gives the meaning of the academic writing style. L. Lennie Irvin speaks that this writing style is argumentative and analytical and states the three characteristics. Academic writing characteristics includes: having clear evidence, the importance of reason over emotions or sensual perception, and having an imaged reader. The purpose of an argumentative essay is to hold a discussion to gain a better understanding of the topic. I have learned that I need to have an organized presentation and have strong evidence to write this specific writing.
It seems hard to believe that I could not write an MLA style paper at the start of the semester. Now, after I have spent so much time forcing the rules into my head, it feels second nature to write in this style. There seemed like way too many rules to keep up with them all. Double spacing, precise margins, and a specific way to orient the pages seemed difficult.
