Accordingly in 19 Hundreds the japanese occupied the korean peninsula and this occupation was very forced and violent until the japanese lost the war and were forced to retreat. The the americans started to enter korea through the south and the soviets started entering from the north and both agreed to stop at a significant point and that point was the 38th parallel which split almost evenly korean in to two sides (Hickey). Both sides wanted to have party leaders and even though the elections where heavily rigged the elections still continued and Kim Il-sung was elected for the soviet party and Syngman Rhee was selected to represent the US and South Korea (Millett), parties both leaders were cruel and corrupt but the soviets had already started to build up troops to start the …show more content…

Mac Arthur was pleased with this accomplishment and became over confident by starting to bomb the river of Yalu (Millett), to try to provoke the chinese to attack because Mac Arthur wanted to end communism all together, but what Arthur didn't know about the war was that the chinese were serious about winning the war against the south And to recapture the lost territory. China was able to sneak troops past the border the americans had created and since Mac Arthur was too busy rejoicing over his latest accomplishment he did not pay attention which cause china to regain the territory lost and dropped South Korea back to the 38th Parallel Mac Arthur had ordered to use nuclear weapons until the president of the US disagreed with his opinion which eventually led to Mac Arthur’s Dismissal and the way coming to a stop the North and the South did not make peace they had an armistice which meant the borders would stay the same as they were before.To this day the North Korea and South Korea border still intact since that war
