The song, “Shades of Cool” by Lana Del Rey reminds me and connects to the play, “Macbeth”. The song connects to Macbeth’s whole plot line in many different ways. The song is mainly about Macbeth and how he struggles with his guilt. In the beginning of the play, Macbeth meets three witches and Macbeth murders Duncan, who is the king of Scotland, at Macbeth’s home. In the beginning of the song, the song starts with a guitar playing a slow tempo. When Macbeth came back from murdering Duncan Macbeth told Lady Macbeth, “I have done the deed” (II.ii.19). The play and the song connect in a deep meaning. The slow tempo of the guitar playing in the beginning of the song reminds me of Macbeth who has already murdered Duncan. It reminds me of sorrow, which is how everyone feels when they hear the news of their great king being murdered. In the song, when it says, “My baby lives in shades of cool” , it reminds me of someone living in their own world. The word cool reminds me of the color blue and blue represents …show more content…
It reminds me of distress of all the murders that occurred just for power. Yet another death is to come. In the play Seyton tells Macbeth, “The Queen, my lord, is dead” (V.iv.19). Then come the last chorus of the song and once again, Macbeth is unfixable. At the end of the song, the song finishes with a final “Oooo.” Macduff kills Macbeth and tells everyone else, “Behold where stands Th’ usurper’s cursed head” (V.viii.65-66). The final “Oooo” reminds me of the final breath and not only the end to Macbeth’s life but to his guilt and sorrow. In conclusion, Macbeth is truly another great work of art from William Shakespeare. Many other works of art can relate to Macbeth and its incredible plot. To me Macbeth mainly represented sorrow guilt and madness. In my opinion this song was a great choice and really reminded me of the plot of
Macbeth visits the witches in this scene, and he demands to know his fate. “Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth, beware Macduff; Beware the Thane of Fife. Dismiss me, enough,” “Whatever thou art, for thy good caution, thanks.” (4,1,78-80) The lyrics "Can't escape the way I love you / Don't wanna, but I love you / Can't stand how much I need you" The lyrics stand for Macbeth's obsession with power, it shows that he is willing to do anything.
Macbeth Persuasive Essay The play of Macbeth is one of the greatest pieces written in all of literature. William Shakespeare's “Macbeth” is about Macbeth, a Scottish General and thane of Cawdor, who runs across some witches who tell him about a prophecy that they have foreseen that he will become the next great King of Scotland. Once the witches tell Macbeth of his fate, he suddenly has a new found lust for power. Although the play of Macbeth can be seen as a Tragedy of Fate given by the witches, the play is really about the tragedy of character.
Some times we just want to start over again and the song perfectly portrays that. Also it saids “… screams but no one hears a thing” Guy Montag was trying to tell his wife about books but as much as he tried she wouldn 't listen to him like the song. In the story theres a lot of conflict that had happen but like the song saids that after a hurricane theres a rainbow. When all the bad stuff that is happening in his life its like the hurricane and the rainbow can be when he found the hobos that weren 't just hobos. Set fire to the rain by Adele expresses the feelings that Guy Montag could have been feeling.
Overall, Macbeth is a story tied with death. Furthermore, death works in conjunction with betrayal throughout the play. Betrayal is a very common theme in Macbeth and almost every time it occurs it also comes with a change in
I liked the song because I realized that if something changed in the relationship, it would affect the human behavior, and that was clear in song. The words that she was saying and the show that she was performed while singing is all about one concept. It is all about having someone who left you in the middle of the way; that is so painful, and that is what Taylor was trying to say by her beautiful song. From the song, I understood that what changed never came back
The Tragedy of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare deals with the concepts of power, ambition, evil and fear. One particular scene in the play seems to deal with more of the concepts of fear and power, as well as feeling nothing. In Act 5, Scene 5, Shakespeare uses differing types of figurative language to add to the somber tone and dark nature of the scene/play. In this scene, Macbeth is preparing to go to war with the people who were once on his side.
Macbeth foresaw only gain for betraying his friends and king. However, the consequences betraying and murdering his friend banquo haunt him, “Ay, and a bold one, that dare look on that which might appall the devil” (III.iv.71-72). Macbeth’s conscience haunts him for he knows murdering Banquo was wrong. To highlight the consequences of betrayal and greed Shakespeare haunts Macbeth with grotesque reminders of his crimes to tell the reader that one should not take actions one cannot live with.
Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, it is thought to have been performed during the early 1600’s. It demonstrates the harmful physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power. Throughout the play of Macbeth the reader is able to see common phrases that are comparable to those of this generation's music, more specifically act 1 to the song ‘I want it all’ by Queen. Firstly, ‘I want it all’ by Queen relates to Macbeth’s ideas of killing King Duncan in act 1, scenes 3-5, it speaks of wanting all of something and doing whatever it takes to get it no matter what consequences that come from it.
William Shakespeare wrote Macbeth. It is considered one of its most powerful and darkest tragedies; the play dramatizes the psychological and political corrosive effects produced when evil is chosen as a way to satisfy the ambition for power. Macbeth tells a story of crime and punishment mixed with witchcraft. Covered in the deceitful prophecies of the Weird Sisters, Macbeth decides to assassinate his king and take the crown. Aware of the horror to which he surrenders, he forges his terrible destiny and believing himself invincible and eternal.
From honored soldier to murderous tyrant, Macbeth killed his way into power. He was informed of his “destiny” and stopped at nothing to achieve it. He had multiple chances to rethink his actions. He didn 't however, he kept on his march to power leaving only himself to blame. Macbeth is the only one to blame for his actions and ultimately, his death.
There are many factors that determine how people behave in their daily lives. We are run by a number of rules and regulations that influence the way we behave, talk and live. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding shows that without the influence of a civilized society and law and order, people’s characteristics can change drastically. Similarly in Macbeth, Shakespeare represents the loss of morality of a leader as his hunger for power clouds his judgement. Both pieces of literature present how both writers view the breakdown of morality through the breakdown of civil behaviour.
From beginning to end, I am captivated by the music. Each element brings a unique character to the overall piece. The music takes the listener on a suspenseful journey. The arrangement of the song gives me a visual of someone stumbling upon a dark forest and begins to hear the fast-approaching movement of something behind them. The pairing of several melodic phrases throughout the composition adds to the sense of chaos and turbulence.
After killing Duncan, Macbeth’s mental state changes completely. The difference between the moment before the murder and the moment after is that Macbeth’s lack of determination. He feels personally responsible for the murder and wishes it never happened. Thus, he is afraid to look at the dead body and face what he has done (2.2.54-56). His regret of the murder shows the transformation of Macbeth’s attitude: he lets his remorse overpower him to the point of madness.
