Every choice an artist makes either consciously or subconsciously will have an effect on the viewer. Every form, every line, and every detail is up for personal interpretation; an artist will never be able to decide what the viewer takes away from the painting. However, there are certain choices that an artist can make to help guide the viewer to the desired interpretation. While observing Donatello 's Madonna of the Clouds and Luca della Robbia 's Virgin and Child with Lilies, the artists made vastly different choices in medium, color, style, and space to convey different messages, all while using a similar central subject matter. Luca della Robbia 's depiction of the Madonna and Child is in a completing contrasting tone. Instead of heightening the somber and ethereal attributions of Madonna and Child 's story, Luca dells Robbia heightens the purity, the joy, and the love between the pair. The sculpture is done in a higher relief with glazed terra-cotta. The figures are cleaner, more defined, and one two planes. There is the ground and the earth plane which is where the Madonna and child are seated, and then there is the heavenly plane which is where the three angles are located. The angles are higher than the Madonna and child and are looking down at them. However, unlike in Donatello 's sculpture the angles are not there as protection but rather there to enjoy the scene there is a sense of joy within this. They are looking at the pair and rejoicing in the fact that there is a true bond between these two. They are in the heavens beaming down at them in a way that is quite lovely. The Madonna and child are in an intimate family scene. The child is playing with white lilies while the Madonna is staring lovingly at her child. It 's a very personal and relatable experience. The lilies themselves allude to the purity of the scene. They are flowers that are connected to virginity and chastity. Emphasizing that Mary and Christ are both miracles. As the idea of a virgin icing birth to the son of god is considered a miracle. By putting the lilies in the earthly plane, a connection is made between the heavens and the earth in a simpler and more elegant way than that of Donatello. Enriquez’s utilization of the color gold gives the Virgin Mary a regal aura and establishes her importance by dressing her in one the world’s most coveted and reverenced metals.

She seemed to be troubled or dark but in the end the reader is able to see the real Alaska, the childlike and happy
Madonna del Magnificat was created by Botticelli in the early 1480s. It is said to be one of the most famous paintings of the Madonna during his time because of the five contemporary replicas which were created. The painting was covered with gold paint and if you see it in person the figures appear to be life size. The virgin which is slightly almost at the center of the painting is crowned by two angels and is depicted as the queen of heaven. Two wingless angels are crowning her.
The marigolds symbolized her childhood and innocence, which were deeply treasured. Once Lizabeth destroyed the marigolds, she was no longer a child. In lines 134-137, she remarked, “For as I gazed at the immobile face with the sad, weary eyes, I gazed upon a kind of reality that is hidden to childhood. The witch was no longer a witch but only a broken old woman who had dared to create beauty in the midst of ugliness and sterility.” As a child, Lizabeth had childishly saw her as a witch who strangely wanted to grow beautiful marigolds during a terrible time, but she realized that Miss Lottie just wanted to create happiness for herself and anyone that happened to pass by and look at her marigolds.

The product of art can help others with similar experiences but not able to express the same feeling themselves. From the product of art, people can start drawing excitement, purpose as well as encouragement about the real thing being expressed. Through a piece of art, the artist can communicate a purpose, an emotion or an idea in their work. In this research paper, I compare two pieces of artwork; Madonna and child with the saints by Giovanni Bellini and Madonna and child with the two angels done by Fra Filippo Lippi.
The use of the fresco technique when painting, usually produces a matte-like finish once it has dried, a trait that can be noted when analyzing Bondone’s painting, The Meeting of Joachim and Anna. On the other hand, Simone Martini’s painting, The Annunciation, shows the opposite finish of Bondone’s painting, because The Annunciation is considered to be very elegant, and includes a gold background, which enhances its brilliance. This is mainly because The Annunciation was painted in tempera and gold leaf on wooden panels, the opposite of a fresco painting. The use of tempera and gold leaf added immense sophistication and brilliance to Martini’s painting, something that Bondone’s painting was lacking. While Bondone’s painting has a matte finish which can be associated with the Florentine style of art, and Martini’s painting has more of an elegant finish,
The Baroque period covers one hundred and fifty years from 1600 to 1750. Its characteristics tend to include, lavish, over the top, expensive and much more then necessary. The period is painted literally with architecture, paintings, clothing, food and much more that continuously begs people of today to ask ‘why?’. The use of frill and extravagance in art in this period has become less of a question of ‘why’ and more of a question ‘where is the extra?’, because this part in history is centered around adding extra ornamentation to everything. With such an over the top part in history, it would seem impossible to pick one piece that could embody every aspect of the Baroque Era but it is to be proven that one piece has such potential.

Each thing is valid and really there” (Atwood 40). In other words, Offred is saying red tulips are most strongly associated with true love, while tulips to Serena Joy represents false love.
