One country, thousands of individuals, one impact, one similitude, describes one man’s work; Mahatma Ghandi. Taking into account his many achievements in life, Ghandi possesses courage, kindness, and humility; traits of a modern hero. It is an understatement that Mahatma Ghandi made a great impact on the entire world. Indeed it was so great of an impact that his actions are still portrayed and spoken about in our society today. Events that were a turning point in Gandhi's life, shaped his social activism and awakened him to social injustice. He fought for what his people and himself believed in, and for the rights they should be given. As a result Ghandi was and is seen as a model by many important people, but although he was seen by many, he actually didn't care as long as the modifications that needed to be made were made. Despite of the racial discrimination directed towards him and all colored people, he still didn’t back down from his goals. Accordingly this is one of the causes why he is such a great role model, he didn't really cared what people thought of him. He got his priorities set straight and did everything in his power so they could be achieved. This corroborates that if you are perseverant and persistent you can be the difference you want to make. Regarding the fact that he never backed down, not even when he was thrown off a train after refusing to move from the first class. As a result of his peaceful protest he was allowed in first class the next day (Orwell). His actions advise us that when you want something badly, there’s no one and nothing that can get you to stop before getting it. Therefore, Ghandi’s characteristics persistency, perseverance and not backing down are mostly what makes him a great role
