TASK 1 1.0 Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) Background Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB), previously known as Malaysia Airlines System Berhad (MAS) was founded in 1947 as Malayan Airways (Malvin Ong, 2015). However, in 1 September 2015, Malaysia Airlines System Berhad has change its name as Malaysia Airlines Behad. MAB is the flag carrier which is own by government of Malaysia (Malvin Ong, 2015). The headquarters of MAB is located at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Sepang (Malvin Ong, 2015). There are four hubs that MAB operates flights, which are Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching International Airport and Penang International Airport. Malaysia Airlines, which offering air transportation services to passengers daily to, from and around Malaysia, is the national carrier of Malaysia (Malaysia Airlines, 2017). Besides, Malaysia Airlines also have won both a Skytrax five-star rating and World’s Best Cabin Crew award among the few airlines (Malaysia Airlines, 2017). Through the subsidiaries, Malaysia Airlines Berhad manufactures aircraft parts, offers trucking and freight transportation services and caters food services for airlines and other business institutions (Funding Universe, 2016).
