Immediately after the War, which the World War II brought a temporary halt to film production, the film production resumed vigorously (Muthalib). The Golden Age of Malay Cinema subsequently became known in the 1950s and early 1960s. The first Malay film was produced is not exactly known (Khan, 1997). The actual date of the first film production is uncertain as the beginning of Malay cinema in Singapore has a few publications date in the early 1930s (Khan, 1997). The year was 1933 and an Indian businessman named S.M Chisty to produce a film called Laila Majnun that was convinced by a group headed by B.S Rajhans (Khan, 1997). Rajhans became the first director that direct a Malay film in Singapore with Laila Majnun (Khan, 1997).

Plus, there are also people involved in CG animation such as Hock-Lian Law. The first film to be shot on high-definition (HD) was the parody Aku Kaya The Movie by Murali Abdullah in 2004. Digital-video (DV) feature film production had already begun as early as 1999 with two works of the Malaysian Film Academy (MFA), Osman Ali and Santosh Kesavan. Yusry Abd.
