“For many years, I had allowed my second husband to take credit for my paintings. But one day, unable to continue the deception any longer, I left him and my home in California and moved to Hawaii.” This is a quote from, Margaret Keane, one of the most successful painters in the 1960s. In order for Keane to rise to the level of fame she has, she had to go through many struggles like; raising her daughter on her own, escaping two bad marriages, being locked in her own home, and not being able to take credit for the thing that she loved doing more than anything else. She is an incredibly strong individual who has had to face too many obstacles on her quest to paint and be happy.

Marilyn Bell Di Lascio from the short story, “The True Story of Lake Ontario” and Sharon Wood from the short story, “Sharon Wood: No Limits” both make exceptional role models, but I think that Marilyn is truly superior to Sharon. Her experience as a swimmer started with genuine determination, despite her anxiety and anxiety, that is not generally found amongst many people today. Marilyn wanted to make it far in the world of swimming, just as her role model Barbra Ann Scott, a World and Olympic figure-skating champion, did.

"Let's go Blue Devils!", "Fire it up big blue!", "We're number one!", "Let's goooo!” All of those sayings are extremely familiar to just about anyone. You instantly are taken back to high school and being under those Friday night lights. You remember the smell of the grass, the sound of the band, and cheering along with everyone else in the stands. Then you see it, or her. The cheer captain. The "most perfect girl in school". You are either one of two things at this age: the guy wanting to be her boyfriend or the girl wanting to be her.

Many people have a person that they look up to and who encourages them. It 's someone who I think doesn 't give up and gets back up when they fall down, who has an impact to other people around them and they work for what they have earned. A person that is a role model to me is a man named Kobe Bryant. He is a basketball player that accomplished many things in his career. He was also born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Biography Today 44). He is someone who over time has shown persistence and courage throughout his career in basketball. Kobe Bryant was a role model and inspiring basketball player that had a great legacy in the NBA.

Thus, although Tami Lloyd’s lack of a college education limited her many things in her life she is an unsung hero due to her attitude of self-confidence, responsibility and ambition along with her eagerness to learn, and her ability to be caring and understanding of individuals while keeping a modest thought process.
I would like to reflect upon how I manage my work priorities and professional development. In doing so I would go on to explain how I serve as a positive role model in the workplace through personal work planning and organisation, how I ensure personal work goals, plans and activities reflect the organisation’s plans, and own responsibilities and accountabilities. Then I will explain how I measure and maintain personal performance in varying work conditions, work contexts and contingencies, take initiative to prioritize and facilitate competing demands to achieve personal, team and organizational goals and objectives, use technology efficiently and effectively to manage work priorities and commitments, maintain appropriate work/ life balance, and ensure stress is effectively managed and health is attended to. Subsequently, I will discussion on how I assess personal knowledge and skills against competency standards to determine development needs, priorities and plans, seek feedback from employees, clients and colleagues and use this feedback to identify and develop ways to improve competence, identify, evaluate, select and use development opportunities suitable to personal learning style/s to develop competence. Finally, I will look into how I undertake participation in networks to enhance personal knowledge, skills and work relationships, identify and develop new skills to achieve and maintain a competitive edge.
