Management is both an art and science…, Management is also generally considered as a new discipline, it is very complex and derives its meaning from different disciplines and so it is very difficult to obtain a complete and clear definition with that in mind management can be described in three different ways (Prasad, 2009).
As a discipline, it is referred to as a field of study which incorporates defined concepts and principals which aids in management activities, so this said principals and concepts are applied in different organization to run day to day operations (Prasad, 2009).

Management Consulting
According to international council of management consulting institutes, Management consulting is the provision of independent advice and assistance about the process of management to clients with management responsibilities. Management consulting can be viewed from two perspectives which is on being provision of professional service and the other way is the method of providing practical advice and help to clients (Kurb, 2002).
Over the years the management consulting is now being regarded as a specific sector of a profession activities with which methodologies are used in assisting different organizations and executives in many capacities which can be summarized into two that is improvement of management practices and improvement of individual and organizations performance. Now you might ask yourselves who are these consultants? Well consultants are individuals or groups of people working together on full-time or part-time basis to provide consulting services. Usually full-time consultants are registered companies or individuals working fulltime on consultancies and part-timers can be other technically competent people who have mastered consulting tools and skills and observe rules of professional consulting they can be teachers, lecturers, researchers and systems developers (Kurb, …show more content…

Consultant is independent, the consultant should not be affiliated with any of the parties involved in that consultancy so as they could effectively be able to provide unbiased and fair assessment in their reports (Kurb, 2002).
One of the major attributes of Consulting is that consulting is generally a temporary service offered to clients for a limited and defined time in areas with which technical advice or expertise is required or additional support is required on that area after which once done the consultant no longer has any ties to the implementation of the provided advice (Kurb, 2002).
Like any other business ventures consultancy is categorized as one because it involves the charging of a fee to the client for the services rendered as in any other economic transaction in this case the consultants are the sellers and the clients become the buyers and the service provided are the goods and services of such a trade (Kurb,
