The monk seals are a rare tropical animal that lives on the Caribbean and the Hawaiian Islands. Monk seals live in warm waters and spend about two-thirds of their time at sea. However, they also spend time on land as they breed and carry-out their “pups.” Coral reefs provide the seal as a great habitat for them to dive, swim, and for food such as fish. It may seem that monk seals spend most of their time at sea, but they also love to rest on shore on the beaches.

Like cows, they are big, gentle mammals that love to eat grass. Of course, manatees live in the water and they graze on sea grass, and instead of hooves, they have flippers on the ends of their front legs, and instead of back legs, they have a giant flat tail. The reason they live along the coast and in the river around here is because they can’t survive in water that is too deep or too cold. Warm, shallow water is the perfect habitat for them. They can easily float to the surface and breathe, and they can float back down to the bottom, where they chow on sea
Louisiana Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast The Louisiana coast is a natural, economic, and cultural tourism resource. It features an area rich in ecological abundance that supports activities such as commercial and recreational fishing, habitat for a number of waterfowl, migratory birds, reptiles and amphibians. In addition, it has five of the top 12 ports (per cargo volume) in the United States. It is a major supplier of US natural gas and oil power and home to more than 2 million people - nearly half of the state's population.
Manatees live in north american east coast, shallow slow moving rivers, saltwater bays, canals, and the coastal areas. They eat seagrass and freshwater vegetation. The bull shark (Carcharhinus leucas) or also named Zambezi shark. The bull shark starts its life when its mother gives birth to about one and thirteen per liter. The mothers give birth around between late spring and early summer. When mating the male nips at the back of the female and grasps one of her pectoral fins in his mouth, this usually leaves a scar for the female called courtship scars. They are immediately on their own and separate from each other.
Depending on where the manatee lives they will have different thickness of their fat layer, for example manatees occupying warmer waters will have a thinner layer while manatees in colder areas will have a thicker layer of fat. While all types of manatees share these adaptations, the three types of manatees vary depending on where they live. The West Indian manatee is the largest of the manatee family with gray to brown skin. This type of manatee lives in

The Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the United States, is a vital resource for the local community, economy, and ecosystem. However, it is facing critical environmental issues that threaten its health and sustainability. Human activities are the root cause of these problems, and it is our responsibility to take action to save the Bay. In this essay, we will discuss the types of human activity that affect the Bay's health, why it is essential to restore its health, and the action plans or steps that could be taken to accomplish this goal.
Haiti and the Dominican Republic were at first a single nation called “Hispaniola” (La Isla Española, The Spanish Island) by Christopher Columbus in March 1493 when he was trying to conquer the “New World”. This island was the first step of the Spanish Colonists in order to conquer the American continent. Eventually, the Spanish presence in the western side of the island disappeared, moving to the American continent, which made Haiti to fall under the French Power. In 1697 France officially wins Haiti over Spain, which never reentered the Spanish community. Today, Haiti and Dominican Republic share the island of Hispaniola, which is encircled by the Atlantic Ocean to the north, and the Caribbean Sea to the South, but these two nations are similar
With only about one-sixth of the original coral cover left, most Caribbean coral reefs may disappear in the next 20 years. This statistics according to the latest report by the Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). First of all, as we know nearly two-thirds of coral reefs in the Caribbean are threatened by human activities. For example of human activities that effect the coral reefs are coastal development, watershed-based sediment and pollution, marine based threats and also overfishing. Within the years, the Reefs at Risk Threat Index identified that about one-tenth of Caribbean coral reefs are at very high levels of threat,
Imperialists often profess to have an interest in the development of a people or state they intend to conquer. And sometimes there is indeed evidence of ‘development’, but the benefits to the imperialists are always disproportionately greater. The Region has its politico-economic genesis in the bowels of imperialism. The Region, consequently, has progressed or retrogressed within this very context of imperialism. Imperialism has condemned the Caribbean Region to ‘Third World’ status perpetually it seems.

The Caribbean is a place where most of the countries share the history. It is a history that is deeply embedded with loss and struggle. Over the course of history, the Caribbean has been through a lot of stages from slavery, colonialism come right down to independence and post-independence. With slavery, the blacks were introduced, then we have the Europeans and of course the Indians came with the indenture ship program. Since the Caribbean has such a diverse array of cultures and ethnic groups, it is expected that these groups will leave their own impact on the society as a whole.
