Eric’s mother Ileana came from cuba at the age of seven. This had an effect on Eric and the way he saw life. Eric started playing baseball at an early age and was always coached by his father Mike. Later in the years Eric started playing select baseball and traveled all around the country. When Eric was a teenager he was associated with several little league teams and multiple championships under his belt.

On January 31, 1919, Jack Roosevelt Robinson was born in Cairo, Georgia. When he was only a few months old, he took a train ride to move to Pasadena, California with his mother, Mallie, brothers, Edgar, Frank, and Mack, and sister, Willa Mae. This quarter I read the realistic fiction book, The Batboy by Mike Lupica. This book is a story about a 14 year old boy named Brian Dudley. Son of a former pitcher and an avid baseball fan, Brian gets his dream summer job: the bat boy for his favorite team the Detroit Tigers. When it seems like his summer cannot get any better, his all-time favorite player Hank Bishop is signed to the team. At the beginning, Hank is cold and yells at Brian a lot, but in the end they become friends.
Hank Aaron was born on February 5,1934 to Estella and Herbert Aaron. He was the third of eight children, and they lived in a poor black section of Mobile, Alabama up until he was eight years old then his family moved to the middle-class Toulminville neighborhood. Aaron had a strong link to baseball and football from a young age, and he tended to focus more heavily on sports rather than his studies. As a young child he had many heroes like Joe DiMaggio, Jackie Robinson, and Stan Musial who are all baseball players. His first baseball team was the Toulminville Grammar School in the Louisiana Rec.
Of course I said yes. A week or two later I found out that my friend Ethan had tried out for the 11U team (I played 12U). The 11U coaches told him that he was good enough to try out for the STL Fire black 12U team. He made it! Now in the spring I will get to play with him.

To commence, Lenny picks up a flyer for the Armchair Announcer contest, in which he could be a possible announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies game for one inning. Lenny and his best friends both named Mike decide to enter the contest to see if they can make Lenny the announcer for the one inning. Although all three of them are terrible baseball players, their love and passion for the game is astronomical, as they watch every Phillies baseball game that they can. While researching how to enter the contest, they learn that the requirements involve them having to announce some historical feat that happened in baseball. In accordance, the three boys decide on arranging an interview with the pitcher with the worst earned run average in the history of baseball.

At six, Fremont’s father passed away due to unknown causes. Fremont’s mother moved her family to Charleston, South California so that she could get help raising her family of three. In 1829 Fremont entered the college of Charleston, however, got expelled due to many absences.

Sedaris had believed his childhood was so boring in comparison to his partner Hugh’s childhood. Sedaris compares his childhood to Hugh’s childhood a lot until he started to have feelings of resentment towards him.
