Buell when she is informed of her passing away. She wonders if “she had anyone who loved her?” as she recalls “Glo’s voice, talking about her, had been so cold”. In her trail of thought, Kate feels remorse and regret as she wonders “why hadn't [Kate] smiled back?” Kate also feels sadness on a more personal level as she attempts to imagine Mrs. Buell as a child but only comes up with the image of her “putting that band-aid on [her] knee”.
Isabel is gullible. The first example shown is at the start of the story where slave sisters Isabel and Ruth are at the funeral of their former master, Miss Mary Finch. Miss Finch was good to the girls, she treated them well, was kind and caring, and most important of all taught them how to read and write, which slave were not allowed to learn how to do. Her will stated that when she died the girls would be free without an owner. In this scene they are asking the Pastor where they would be able to find a place to sleep.
The narrator in the short story, “The Yellow Wallpaper” clearly changes throughout. The case can be made that the narrator has changed for the better in a certain way. During the initial description of herself, the narrator points out a few things that give the reader a feeling of oppression and depression. She portrays the feelings of oppression and oppression by stating that her husband does not believe she is sick. “If a Physician of high standing, and one's’ own husband, assures friends and relatives that there is really nothing the matter with one but temporary nervous depression- a slight hysterical tendency- what is one to do?..and am absolutely forbidden to “work” until I am well again.
She must also watch herself lose her hair, which she regards as a difficult process. Finally, the illness begins to take a serious toll on her body and mind as she undergoes the severity of her changes. She begins to regret how impersonal and unsympathetic she was towards her students, she loses her overly confident and stubborn demeanor, and she stops hiding her pain. Her final heartwarming moment of love and caring with her former professor seals her personal changes just before the end of her life. The character development Vivian goes through over the course of the play are quite extraordinary.
Clearly, this is not the case because in the end they both realized their mistakes.. In the beginning of Fever 1793 Mattie and her Mother show a negative relationship, whereas the second half of the story, their relationship is good.
In the beginning of the story Liesel mentions that she was at a boarding house when she first heard the word communist. -(pg 31) “At one boarding house, there was a healthier woman who tried to teach children to write using charcoal on the wall. Liesel was tempted to ask her the meaning, but it never eventuated. One day, that woman was taken away
Lily then consequently comes to find that the tables are turned and that her mother is the one who is in need of forgiveness. She shows her struggle by saying, “people in general would rather die than forgive” (Kidd 277). Capriciously, she contemplates the situation thinking for one moment “it is over and done,” but in the next she “would be picturing her in the pink house, or out by the wailing wall” (Kidd 278). Ultimately, after her entire debacle, with thrown honey jars as well as many headaches, Lily comes to learn that “you have to find a mother inside yourself” (Kidd 288). This idea sets Lily at ease giving her the knowledge that everything is going to be peaceful from this moment on and that she can take the time to learn to forgive others, just as she has to learn to forgive
Atticus understands Scout’s feelings and gives her advice which he hopes will help her be more empathetic. Finally empathy and tolerance is shown through the actions of Mrs.Lafayette Dubose. Mrs. Dubose calls Atticus filthy names and hates many of his views. She is merciless towards Jem and Scout and they despise her. Even though the children hate Mrs. Dubose they are taught to tolerate her in her final moments.
With the knowledge of the lesson, Sugar defies her cousin's aggression to explain the injustice she learned from the trip. After Sylvia and Sugar leave, Sugar seems to forget about the realization she came to. Even though that happened it is apparent how the lesson caused her to change her dynamic, giving a little more depth and

Under Shakespeare's molding, Katherina in The Taming of the Shrew gradually grows into an obedient and gentle wife, which differs immensely from her previous termagant image. Katherina's father Baptista favors her younger sister Bianca more than her because of Katharina's harsh temper, and the author depicts her character in the start of act II, KATHERINA. Estrella appears to be a child from a different country who has moved with her family to an English-speaking country. Trying to adapt to her new surroundings, she often finds herself confused. In addition to feeling confused, she also thinks that she is being ignored by those around her every day. However, Estrella does not notice the things others see in regards to her outward appearance. Despite the opinions of outsiders, a man, Perfecto Flores, finally helps her achieve her overall goal.
The first prompt I chose to write about was number two. Trace the evolution of the protagonist. What obstacles does she/he face and how is her/his character being revealed through these obstacles? Does the character seem to have a difficult of easy time learning and/or adapting? What do you think influence this about the character?
A Healthy Relationship Relationships are what make up our world today. Everyone has a bond of some sort with someone. They shape the way we see others and how we act. A great relationship, then is not a perfect one, but a healthy one. Healthy relationships develop when both parties are invested in the relationship.
