Did you know that in the early 20th century farm workers were not paid enough for what work they did, even though they should have been paid more because they were basically feeding everyone. Cesar Chavez was born in Yuma, Arizona. He was one of five children in his family. Cesar Chavez died in 1993. Cesar Chavez thought that farm workers needed more appreciation from people for the kind of work they did.

Effective Leadership is a huge part of any movement. Cesar Chavez was a migrant worker who could speak well for other migrant workers. He became a great leader in the movement for equal rights for organized labor. How did Chavez become a great leader? Chavez empowered people and worked well with them; he was willing to self-sacrifice for what he believed was a greater good; he used tough economic tactics such as boycotting rather than violent protests.

In order to bring attention to the movement, Chavez embarked on several heroic journeys, the most famous of which were his extraordinarily long fasts and his even more impressive march to sacramento. In 1966 Chavez, along with many other supporters, began a three hundred mile march from delano to sacramento california. They had marched to sacramento in order to pressure the California government and to bring attention to their movement. about the issues farmworkers were facing. In 1968, Cesar Chavez put himself through a 25 day fast in which he ate nothing and drank only water in order to once again, bring attention to his organization’s movement.

These are some things Cesar Chavez did in 60s and 70s to be. Chavez was a Mexican-American civil rights activist who advocated for better worker rights. He is known today as an effective leader in his time. Why Cesar Chavez is an effective leader is due to the success that resulted from his organization, persistency, and courage. To begin, Chavez showed success by his organization.

Horrendous treatment of farmworkers caused Chavez to take a stand for what he believed in, for no one should be treated poorly because of race or social class. During Chavez’s life, he organized peaceful protests, boycotts, as well as participated in a historic 36 day "Fast for life". Chavez not only changed the working rights for farm workers but subsequently gave dignity to the working class of America. The legacy that Cesar Chavez left behind was that he became the most important leader of the Latino people in the United States, and he founded the still standing United Farmworkers of America.

Cesar Chavez: The Spiritual Worker Cesar Chavez was a hero that came from unlikely origins. He was born into a family of migrant farm workers who primarily worked in the harvest fields of Yuma, Arizona. Unable to make the payments necessary to continue the farm, the Chavez family left Arizona during the Great Depression. Leaving their possessions and the farm behind, the family found themselves on the road towards California, where they continued to hold on to the small hope of finding a new opportunity. Penniless and powerless, Chavez and other Hispanic families were stuck with the task of working in fruit and vegetable fields.

Cesar Chavez the man who decided to go against the system to fight for his people, but to be specific for the farm workers who didn’t receive any rights at all, terrible working conditions, experience discrimination, and miserable wages. During the 1950-1960s there was no union for Latinos working on the fields, Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta came out to form The United Farm Workers union that will help the farm workers receive better working conditions and better salaries. Cesar Chavez mention on his article The Organizer’s Tale his view on people who called themselves “leaders” but in reality wouldn’t help at all “Working with low-incomes people is different from working with the professionals, who like to sit around talking about how to play politics” (Chavez p.111). People who claim to be a leader for the farm workers wouldn’t do anything but, talk about how they will benefit from it. Cesar Chavez is a hero to the farm workers and the Latino community for all the strength he had to show the real world of the farm workers and, for stepping out the shadow to make a change for these working people.

Cesar Chavez was a great man who fought for our human rights in America. Cesar was the man who helped all the Mexicans and immigrants in this country, including in the state of Arizona. He made a positive impact on many people’s lives. If Cesar Chavez didn't fight for us, many Mexicans would still be living in Mexico, or in other states, working on farms. Cesar Chavez used all the power he could get to help us.

Cesar Chavez wrote a piece in the magazine of religious organization on the ten year anniversary of Martin Luther King. He starts off saying that Dr. King was a very powerful man with nonviolent means. Throughout his writing he gives many example of why nonviolence will ultimately succeed over violent means, and give of many appeals of emotional, logical, creditable justification. Dr. King may have dies, but with his death only more power has come to the peaceful citizens of the world.

This speech, along with many others that he gave, were to influence people to not purchase food that was grown using pesticides. There were many people getting sick, including children, and some had even died from cancer. Chavez, along with many others, were able to greatly change people’s views on topics.

Also in the story it's said that Robert F.Kennedy described Cesar Chavez as “one of the heroic figures of our time. ”That is one way proving that Cesar was better than Mandela. Also his various victories for Unions. Chavez legacy was to help anyone achieve their struggle. Cesar also influenced and inspired millions of Americans from their struggle of life.
