America has fought for color not to matter. Lives have been lost, and prices have been paid so that the citizens of America can be treated equally no matter the color. There have been many main figures that fought for equality. One example is Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a pastor. Martin led riots about equality. Martin made a speech that changed the world, the speech was called “I Have A Dream.” Some people didn’t like the speech though, and somebody burned Martin's house down. Martin Luther King Jr. put his life on the line period. Martin was assassinated though, and that was a day that would be remembered all through out history.
