Typically, an argument does not consist of name calling, and as a matter of fact disapproves ideas without evidence. Alternatively, good arguments consist of a few vital rhetorical issues such as, supporting evidence, know if the evidence is relevant, and to consider the audience 's perspective as well as know if they analyze the argument from two opposite views.
He has showed me that I shouldn’t let my dreams just be dreams. This means that I should get out and make a change to the world, just as he did. He has inspired me by his actions, words, and personality. He is known for the non-violent ways in which he carried on and led the civil rights movement. He fought for racial equality and showed the people a picture of a better future where all men are equal.
That’s why we have a Martin Luther King Jr. day and not a Malcolm X day. People should strive to be more like MLK, only then will we be on track for world peace. Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers succeeded in showing America how to truly stand for freedom, how to truly achieve peace, how to truly be an “American”. Other Blacks like Malcolm X failed to do this, and he is a great example of what not to do. The only thing MLK failed at is living long enough to get his message of equality through everyone’s thick skull who still doesn’t get it.
Transformational leaders are defined as leaders and followers that guide one another get to higher levels of his or her goals. With charismatic leaders, they are focused on the commitment towards their cause. Transformational and charismatic leaders primary differences are being focused and their listeners. The leader that I choose is Martin Luther King. He was recognized as a charismatic leader.
This reference in particular evokes the strongest emotional response from black people because many African Americans revered Lincoln for his decision to sign the revolutionary Emancipation Proclamation, and how the document symbolized a free future for slaves--the ancestors of the blacks in the crowd. But the next few lines following this allusion also persuades those ignorant of how little things have changed by highlighting the “manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination” that blacks still suffer from despite the hundred year gap. Here, he uses the connotations of “manacles” and “chains” to evoke a negative emotional response from the audience, especially from those unaware of the need to change, causing their opinion to match the speaker’s: against segregation. Additionally, King weaves biblical allusions into his speech to appeal to the Christians within the crowd. He uses the “dark and desolate valley of segregation” to illustrate the injustice African Americans have endured for centuries and juxtapositions it with the “sunlit path of racial justice” to exemplify a future where true freedom exists for
Trust is a key component in business world, particularly because supervisor and management do not hire, nor keep in employment those that they do not trust. Unfortunately, because of this, the violation of trust is an occurrence that many companies are susceptible to. By keeping up with employees and understanding their personal life to some extent, without breaching privacy, management can adjust their views of an employee, giving the proper access involve with their job tasks. Supervisor should require
How Martin Luther King Jr uses pathos in his speech Martin Luther King Jr. wrote the speech I have a dream it’s about having freedom because back in the day they didn’t have a lot of freedom people judged by the color of their skin and he was trying to speak for many people of both ethnicities and religion. He wants everyone to have the same freedom and to be able to do things together and not have to different bathrooms, schools, water fountains etc. Martin Luther King Junior’s most persuasive appeal is pathos because he shows the audience his passion for wanting the best for everyone and the future of his people, he shows hope because he wants the future for everyone to improve and he shows confidence because he knows a lot about this topic and he has been in a lot of situations like this before. One way Martin Luther King Jr. uses his emotions to persuade people to trust him is through his passion. Martin Luther King Jr shows passion because he believes everyone should have equal rights even though they may be of a different ethnicity, religion, etc.
White people were thinking in a mindset that they were better people than African Americans based off of their skin color. White people shouldn’t have been worrying about what color skin, they have because at the end of the day both African American and white people share the same fate: “The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.” (King, para 9-10). This shows that through all of this hatred, there are white people who understand the struggles African Americans have.
Ronald Reagan has to be an active leader both locally and internationally. He creates a foundation for this paper where I choose to critically analyze his achievements and his leadership drive and qualities. He has to be a motivation for many young leaders and the upcoming generation. He had the zeal to facilitate both peace and development in the United States. It is, therefore, important to note that Ronald Reagan will be the central focus for this leader analysis paper.
