In July 1505 Luther had an experience that led him to become a monk. During his first few years as a monk, he didn 't find the religious enlightenment,he was looking for.

In 1484 the Luther family moved to Mansfeld, Hans had ore deposits there. Martin’s father wanted him to become a lawyer.
