Have you seen the movie “The Mighty”? What would you consider Max and Kevin 's friendship as? In this movie I consider their friendship as mutualistic because both of them benefit from the friendship. There are many different examples that I could give to prove that their friendship is mutualistic.
In the movie “The Mighty” I noticed how Max and Kevin treat each other. How their friendship got started in the beginning of the movie was when Kevin came in as a tutor for Max because he struggled with reading. Both of the boys really didn’t have any friends, and they both stood out as different in their own ways. In the scene when Kevin was reading to Max, that’s when I noticed that their friendship was mutualistic because both of them were getting something out of it. After Kevin got done reading to Max, he asked him if he would take him to the fair to go see the fireworks and he would give him five dollars. Max took Kevin to see the fireworks at the fair and both of them had a great time together. This scene shows you that they do have a mutualistic relationship because as you can see

People might say that their friendship is not mutualistic because Max really doesn’t get anything from Kevin because he is always having to drag Kevin around and basically watch out for him. Kevin is the one benefiting from most of the relationship because now he finally has someone that can do stuff that he has always wanted to do. I disagree with these people because Kevin is not the only one that is benefiting from this relationship. For example Kevin helps Max with the things he needs like with tutoring him with his reading and Kevin benefits because he has someone that can take him places and watch out for him since he is crippled. This clearly shows you that their relationship is mutualistic because as you can see they are both getting something out of their
Max and freak the quest of friendship (working together) When I was a kid in Sherman Oaks Elementary School, I changed when I became friends with Ethan into a happy person in school. When Ethan came along, I felt happy because he’s being all nice and helping me a lot and he challenged me to a foot race with me too and all of that made me have all the fun In his novel, Freak the Mighty Rodman Philbrick uses the literary devices of characterization and dialogue to reveal the theme of the power of friendship to face one’s problems.

One would assume that the unique bond shared between them would lead to the start of a formal relationship, but to our surprise the couple was not united at the end of the film. Again, supporting the claims of an
There are no walls between them, they are able to talk it out and work through it together. Although not all relationships are perfect, the step to succeed is through passing the point of embarrassment and start to trust one another. Through that trust, there is nothing that is too shameful to be present around each other. This relationship has taught Martin to focus more on others and treat them with utmost respect. This influences Martin to create a healthy relationship with other people, and keeping each other accountable.
The characters undergo numerous psychological difficulties and they let those obstacles get in the way of their friendship. Through all of this, the common thing that happens between both
From what I've read so far, it is clear that Stacey Logan, Jeremy Simms, and TJ Avery, characters in the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor, have very different beliefs about friendship. First, Stacey Logan believes that friendship should mean something. For example, Stacey took a whipping for TJ because he was cheating. Next, Jeremy Simms shows the reader they don't have to be the same race to be friends. He would go walk with the Logan's than ride the bus.
Through all of the problems the boys have faced they still maintain a friendship. Friendship is a combination of things but it is always built on a foundation of trust, and wanting the best for one
Although Max was not sure if he wanted to be friends with Kevin, he got to know him and had tons of
Have you ever wondered what a hero looks like? In the novel “Freak The Mighty” Rodman Philbrick demonstrates that heroes come in all shapes and sizes. In the story there are two boys named Kevin and Max and they are best friends. Max is the son of an assumed killer named Kenny Kane. Kevin is a boy who was born with a birth defect.
All of the main characters fight for friendship even if they do so in different ways and for different reasons. All of them feel in need of someone to talk to if it is about science, about what horrible things one has done or about being different and alone. Another feature is the loss of friendship in all cases. Victor loses his friends to death, and so does Walton while the creature never really “fulfilled his dream of being anyone’s true friend” (Jeray 69). This way the novel not only shows the importance of friendship and having companions but also the possible consequences of either being rejected by everyone or of losing beloved people partly even due to own
The need for friendship manifests itself throughout all civilizations of humanity, because humans are social creatures that learn and grow from interactions between each other. Throughout the beginning portion of the novel, Kirsten and August share a special friendship whether it be through looting abandoned houses together or sharing secrets (Mandel 39). For example, when the conductor tells Kirsten what the prophet had said to her and asks her to “keep it to herself,” Kirsten asks to share it with her friend August (64). Additionally, friendship provides companions to enjoy the highlights of life and commiserate through the valleys of life with. August also provides this latter component of friendship towards the end of the book when August and Kirsten are separated from the rest of the symphony.
According to Webster’s Dictionary, friendship is “the mutual trust between two people.” Friendship is a key factor in truly analyzing and understanding these two novels. It shows that even if the two books have different storylines or characters, these two stories will always remain bound to the idea of friendship. Although there are many themes to choose from in order to juxtapose these two novels, friendship is a very unique and important one to choose because it truly shows the reader the thought processes of the characters. In terms of juxtaposition, friendship is a theme that is filled with depth, as it is like the bridge connecting two separate ideas
Many people don’t really think about growing up all too much, but that is all different in Max’s case. The story Freak the Mighty, by Rodman Philbrick tells of the many adventures of two boys go on. Friendship is the relationship between George and Lennie. The friendship between Georgie and Lennie can be interpreted as brotherhood and the relationship between father and son. Brotherhood is implied because both George and Lennie share a relationship of honesty and love, even though they may not show it. When Lennie gets a little out of line, George gets very irritated and makes it apparent. However, no matter how much Lennie bothers him, George wants to protect Lennie.
