Isabella made the right decision to not go to bed with Angelo to save her brother’s life. Being that she was in the direction to become a nun, it would have messed with her beliefs and rules. Breaking that plead as a nun was part of a violation.
When we first met Isabella, she's getting ready to join a convent that has strict rules for nuns. If, in the play the nun tells Isabella that cannot show her face to a man while having conversation and she will have to have the conversation in front of the head nun. Isabella is OK with this. In fact, she mentions how she wishes that the convent were harsher in its rules than it already is.
The character Isabella in the play Measure for Measure stood for virtue innocent. Isabella offers an example of the highest possible character; since she will not sacrifice her own pride or her brother's in order to save her brother's life. She has strong judgement as long as her morals are concerned, and believes in her own soul and redemption. Her outer feature like her beauty was a reflection of her inner purity. The love that she has for herself is no were to be tested as she went to Angelo to beg for forgiveness and help concerning the execution of her brother. She shows commitment to her believe to not give in the Angelo or to listen to her brother.
