Our names are Sue-Sue Murray and Harriet Townsend from Mr. Enns' Orange Science class. In Phillip's gym, there is a problem having to do with the safety of whomever athletically involved there. For example, if somebody were to be running across the court and tried to come to a complete stop before running out of bounds it would be extremely hard for them to do so without running into the wall. The experiment we conducted was to measure the average distance it took to come to a complete stop while running full speed for fifteen meters. The average distance it ended up taking for the eighth grade class of 2020 was 195.1 cm. The greatest distance from the outer part of the yellow line to either the bleachers or the mat was 153 cm.
