"Engineering" small word, big concept. In the era of globalization and advancement of modern technology, engineering plays a very significant role in our lives more than ever before. From the navigation by sun and stars practised by the early mariners, Marco Polo and Columbus, to the sophisticated Global Positioning System used by electronic devices, we are witnessing the tremendous changes in technological advancement that has occurred over the past two centuries. Barack Obama once said, “Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it 's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.” The words of Barack Obama gives me the impetus in the selection of my career as a mechanical engineer, a path full of hurdles, shun by many with faint hearts. My name is Yue Qi Yann. I hail from Petaling Jaya, Selangor in Malaysia. I am neither smart nor intelligent, I am just a normal person pursuing my true self. Throughout my coursework, I have greatly honed my critical thinking skills and discovered hidden dimensions of myself. It was one fine night, my university buddies and I were heading to Gelang Patah for a casual dinner. Our casual conversations unknowingly led me to question them these: 1.
