My fascination towards Mechanical Engineering can be traced right from my childhood days when I used to wonder how an aeroplane flies, how a bicycle can balance and run on two wheels and many more. I loved Moto GP and I have always wondered how the motorcycles on two wheels travel at such high speeds with good stability. This was the beginning of my interest in Fluid Dynamics which invoked me to do a vast research on the internet on F1 cars, super bike dynamics and Aircraft structures. A good interest in Physics and Mathematics in the school days along with the intent to learn fluid dynamics made it quite easy for me to choose Mechanical Engineering as my major subject of study after High School graduation. These are a few of the major reasons for my interest in pursuing a master’s in Mechanical Engineering from your …show more content…
I finally chose Dr. A. Rajendra Prasad who is the Head of Mechanical department as well as Dean R&D of my college to guide me in my final year project. My project entitled “Latent Heat Energy Storage Enhancement in Domestic Solar Water Heater” was an integration of Clean Energy (Solar Thermal), Heat transfer and Fluid Dynamic Study which showed an increase in 20% efficiency of the existing stock solar heaters. The authenticity in the final year thesis won me the first prize in the college level project display for final year students. Apart from that, it also won the first place in an “All India Student level Innovative projects on Renewable Energy” organised by Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) and was recognised by the Government of Tamil Nadu (India). It was also awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 along with a trophy of honour due to the remarkable innovation in the project. If one would ask me what my achievement as a Mechanical Engineer is, I would point out at my final year project with
Through the inclusion of this acronym the primary audience understands who will be distributing the award. The form-title further entails a type of writing and project that will be submitted to receive this award. The requirement is inferred through the word, “InCredible.” “InCredible” describes the validity of a project as a credible source of knowledge for students, as well as an incredible opportunity, which may be a once in a lifetime experience. The rhetoric within this word is significant because it makes us think about the quality of education and the opportunity of the experience.
This project was extremely rewarding not only in that we all got good grades, but also because we were able to overcome the challenge that the project presented us. I became very close friends with my group mates and I learned that working in a group can also create extremely strong
After getting this information you must assemble it and make your presentation according to it. Then, you must arrange a meeting with the rising engineers in the
Welding is a great job but not many people know what welding is or how it work. According to Thomas net welding is the process of joining metal together with heat welders can work on many kind of structures such as mobile homes, pipes, steel reinforcement and others. Because welding is a relatively easy manufacturing process and provide a great deal of strength (Thomas). To become a welder you need four skills the first skill you need is problem solving because welder must be exceptional problem solver who pay attention to details. They have to spot flaws in materials and designs troubleshoot broken areas and know to fix parts or equipment. The second skill math and science welders constantly use their knowledge of fundamental science and math
In high school and college I am starting to realize that teachers don’t give specific rewards for getting good grades. But I have learned that we are paving the way for us to get a better future and that is the best award of them all. Being a student athlete I believe that I am receiving more than regular students because you learn so many life lessons in sports. I believe that the field trip that I went on is what made me start to apply myself better in school. I received the about $4,000 in academic scholarships for attending UW Parkside.
As a dreamer and queer woman of color, pursuing a career in STEM has been quite challenging. But I have never let anything get in the way of reaching my goals and dreams. I have swam against the current in order to be where I am today, where I have dreamt of being. I am currently a second year student at Trinity Washington University majoring in biochemistry and minoring in mathematics. I am a dedicated student and an analytical and skilled critical thinker who is eager to learn.
Outreach Tech Majors Majors Aerospace engineering What’s aerospace engineering? Aerospace engineering includes the design of planes, missiles, satellites, spacecraft, and more. It involves the development of technologies, such as building quieter, more efficient engines.
Never judge a book by it’s cover, but that's all people do these days is judge, judge, judge. Some may say welding is a dangerous, unpredictable, a harmful thing to participate in. Some might even ponder on the word “Weld” and think if they know what it is. But only if you've done it then you will never know what it feels like (or what it is), the rush of adrenalin and the art it can create. People who weld learn to be themselves, they become more alert and welding can help with further career choices.
Careers in Aerospace Engineering states that after four years, the engineer is eligible to advance as a professional engineer if he/she has earned a degree from an engineering program accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), acquired a passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and earned a passing score on the Professional Engineering (PE) exam. There are many benefits to advancing in doing the extra work such as a pay increase. Jim Lucas also states “the salary range for a newly graduated aerospace engineer with a bachelor's degree is $52,572 to $73,535. The range for a midlevel engineer with a master's degree and five to 10 years of experience is $73,823 to $114,990, and the range for a senior engineer with a master's degree or doctorate and more than 15 years of experience is $93,660 to $147,582.” Most aerospace engineers typically work in an office, but may work in the manufacturing and testing facilities from time to time if they are needed.
An Afternoon with Prashanth Kodiyalam Interview Narrative by Anmol “Badshah” Mehrotra Sitting down in the English Classroom, his dark, thick, curly hair waves like a black sea. As Prashanth sits with his legs parallel to the floor and his mind open to my questions, he recalls his past experiences when he would play the piano, in his house. As his eyes grow stale and his mind wanders off into a long past world, he slowly recollects these great times. “When I was a little boy, I was fascinated with music. My parents realized this and got me a piano.
I enjoy engineering, in fact when I get older I want to become a biomedical engineer. I want to be able to help people. As well as find solutions to help people in their everyday lives. So that hopefully it would make life easier and less stressful for them. I enjoy all the problem solving that comes with engineering.
Since I was in my childhood I have high curiosity on how and why things work. I have this unsatisfied feeling until I know why and how it 's happening. My dad always told me the same about me. I still remember how I spend the whole day looking for what make the pedestal fan to swing and I opened up its cover to see the motor and gear rotating and for me it 's fascinating. He used to bring me along with him in his nearest four wheel drive park where he taught me many things about four wheel vehicles.
I am confident in my decision to study mechanical engineering. I plan on majoring in mechanical engineering because I love math, solving problems and being creative. I am currently taking an ap calculus class at school and attending Lapeer Education and Technology center for the second half of my day. I have been attending Lapeer ed-tech center for 2 years now where I study CAD mechanical design. I have learned parametric solid modeling, worked with 3D printers and am currently learning code for
After exploring the different wings of Mechanical Engineering, graduate education would be the right place to work and explore my interest specific to Mechanical Designing. A doctoral degree will not only enable me to venture out to different domains in design and analysis but also help to develop myself as an independent individual with a sense of responsibility. I’ll also get to work with like-minded people in a competitive environment conducive to constructive learning. Graduate school also offers positions for research and teaching assistantships which would prepare me for a career in teaching. The research internship at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore has taught me that leaving the comforts of the home country and immersing myself in an entirely new culture will push the boundaries of my capabilities.
