On the contrary, people in the past didn’t have such concepts and didn’t have much access to information because media platforms, means, and technologies were limited and unavailable to a great extent. In this paper, I am comparing and analyzing my current consumption experience of mass media, especially social media to my parents’ experience and consumption of mass media that was before at the early stages of their life. I conducted an interview with my parents to know brief information about the way they used and consumed the media platforms that were available back in their earlier life and the kind of influence the media had on them back then as well as their interest in media during the various settings they were at. The interview outcomes were great and helpful for my paper as they contain impressions about the media mediums, channels and programs, and influence on audience from the 1960’s until the …show more content…

I get very distracted, I often have to stop whatever I’m doing and just day dream or I get lost in my phone. I also learned I shouldn't write multiple essays at once with the television on, that only blocks my creativity. The brain, like any other muscle, can get taxed due to multitasking switching between tasks and making multiple decisions might tire your brain to an expanse that a person might end up being a poor or less-effective decision maker. Multitasking can be a waste of time, and multitasking increases one stress levels, and anxiety.
Throughout my life I have had significant literacy events that have shaped me into becoming a literate person. The two huge factors that affected my literacy development was that I was held back in first grade because I lacked the literacy skills needed to be successful in second grade as well as I moved schools 4 times from Kindergarten to fifth grade. I moved from a public school to a private school and back to a public school. When I transferred back to a public school I was eight months behind in my literacy development. Therefore I was placed in a Resource Room to provide me with support to catch up with my peers that were reading at or above grade level.

The ever-busy world, which continuously develops, created people who lack patience, who are always up for instants—instants such as instant updates. They are always eager to know what has just happened or what is currently happening.
