One way the violent video games cause depression is, “Both fictional and news programming can cause lasting emotional upset, though the themes that upset children” (Wilson). This shows that the games may upset the children and then make them feel weird emotions. And then the kids will not know how to deal with these weird emotions so then they can do so unusual things. Also another way these violent video games can cause depression is because, “Due to mixed emotions of kids playing violent video games a man went on a killing spree” (Wilson). This shows that the bad emotions made the kid go crazy, because then they could hurt others without
As article 1 mentions, "Playing video games as a form of entertainment can help a child relax" (P. 3). On the other hand, opposers question the stress-reducing nature of video games. A major point they discuss is that "...games actually increase aggressive thoughts and behavior" (Article 2, P. 4). Many parents and older alduts are concerned that children may become more violent as they age when exposed to many of the popular violent video games out there. However, the reality is that "most youths fully understand the difference between fantasy and reality" (Article 1, P. 3).
These games have positive and negative effects on children, but I strongly believe that video games do affect young kid’s minds. There has been a huge question being asked, is it unhealthy to be playing these video games? Individuals blame computer games for making kids fat, lazy and savage. However, people argue that they don 't, but research was given by students about their own gaming habits and body weight and the results have shown that physical and mental health problems depend on the student 's mental focus on a game. if the child is quite recently taking a seat for a considerable length of time, at that point they are not getting exercise like a few kids get, this might result in the child not being fit and healthy for the future.
A very meaningful quote from Pope John Paul II is “Violence is a crime against humanity for it destroys the very fabric of society” and this applies to the times today. Violence is something hard to stay away from and sometimes is most often seen more than love. Kids especially are exposed at a young age to the violence around us which greatly affects their future lives. One huge contribution to the youth seeing or being a part of violence is through inhumane video games. When kids are playing video games, they can have effects of bad behavior and they lose their innocence by becoming desensitized.
Though media sounds devastating in favour, many complain about it for increasing violence in society. They assert media exposure violence and cause a negative effect on their children’s behaviour. Since media has given a chance to explore social skills and other benefits, it is very disagreeable to blame media itself. In my opinion, other social effects
With special effects in horror movies causing audience members to act angrier in their personal life, it can also hamper a person’s social life. Being angry can hamper a person’s social life by that person being a bad influence on other people and can compel them to elude that person because they do not want that negative behavior around them. According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, a 24 hour hotline that provides help and comfort to abusive relationships, said that a person’s “anger can cause people to feel put off, upset, intimidated, afraid, or a handful of other unpleasant emotions, [and it can run] the risk of pushing loved ones out of [that person’s] life for good.” It is very beneficial to a person to seek to repress their anger when dealing with others. Having friends and family around can greatly help a person when dealing with psychological issues and also help to avoid suffering from potential loneliness. According to Kendra Shelley, a psychological rehabilitation specialist, said that loneliness can have many negative effects such as “depression and suicide, increased stress levels, antisocial behavior, and can result in alcoholism and drug abuse.” A person that is able to sustain their social life can be beneficial when dealing with psychological issues because it will let that person have a support group to help that person
This term describes people who are oblivious to what society considers morally right versus wrong. This oblivion is caused by some factor in one’s environment or event in one’s life. This event or idea has the power to cause one to lose their sense of morality. Technology and youth are a very controversial topic in today’s society. Many believe that technology in the hands of young kids is dangerous because it exposes them to things kids their age should not yet be exposed to.
You run around a little, get tired and winded, bumped and scraped. There are serious consequences for getting out of control as you play—in other words—the fact that the game is physical and tangible means that it has limits. These limits not only include your own endurance, but the rules and procedures followed by your fellow players.” (Eugene 2). This portrays that video game can cause addiction because players play the game too often. They can start to become influenced by the game because of excessive playing which could lead to violent behavior.
However, in my opinion, I am strongly opposed to the video games. It is my firm belief that the video games have many negative effects on people including adults and children. First of all, the violence is one of the most negative effect on peoples. Children who play more violent video games are more likely to have increased aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Furthermore, many children are rewarded in violent games, which confused them the reality and the fantasy.
This problem can be more serious for our youth belonging to the minorities and communities that are unfairly treated. In online interactions, young people with unknown identities may easily do the hate speech or disrespectful behavior. Youth that is spending too much time online on social media may think about/believe a virtual relation substitute for a real one. By spending more time online they often ignore the importance and the appropriate behavior related to a face-to-face contact. Because of this, the set of ability to get along well with others that are necessary for the success in the real life may not develop properly.
