MINESWARAN A/L TANNIMALAY 1001541335 SELF REPORT I have learned a few lessons from this year BSCPPD course. I am sure they will be useful for my medical career in future. The first chapter is Role of Perception in Human Relationship and Health. This topic has taught me that all of us immediately begin to develop impressions about the situation around us, about the people and the objects in our environment through perception. Preconceived notions powerfully influence our attitudes by inducing selective perceptions.

My placements consisted of hematology, clinical neuroscience, acute mental health, complex care and a medicine unit. In looking back over my assessments for these placements I have been able to put together a list of my strengths and areas for growth and from this list I have created my learning plan for my first year of practice. Strengths. Upon reviewing past reflections and feedback from tutors and peers, my strengths include “effective communication with all appropriate parties.” I am reflective and therefore identify areas of strengths and limitations and areas that need improvement; I also seek out constructive feedback regarding my practice (A. Ilic, personal communication, DATE) According to my preceptor last semester I demonstrates a sound understanding of self-care, self-reflection and work life balance. I also have an “understanding of the components of the nurse patient relationship, by maintaining an open and professional relationship with the patients.” I am also “demonstrated self-direction and initiative” (B. Mahy, personal communication, DATE).
National university hospitals play an important role not only for training of doctors and dentists, but also as institutions that train a wide range of medical professionals including nurses and pharmacists. University hospitals carry out clinical training for medical school undergraduates and as well as for postgraduate doctors in order to develop outstanding healthcare professionals. Each national university has built-up training systems for providing long-term training to doctors even after graduation. Figure 3 shows a summary of the doctor clinical training system. The two-year mandatory clinical training is implemented with the aim of teaching medical interns the basic medical care skills to respond to injuries or illnesses frequently
Strength Development, Networking/Relationships, and Resources In order to become a successful medical social worker that brings change to the organization, I would need to have the expertise as a per-diem medical social worker in order to become a full-time position in a well-known hospital. The first goal will allow me to gain the experience needed to become a successful medical social worker plus learning more about the Asian and Asian-Americans usage of social workers within the inpatient and outpatient settings. It allows me to develop my skills to engage with a diverse group of people in a broad age range that I might not have previous experience with. Furthermore, this connects to goal three because it speaks to the requirements needed
CHC Observation- A Reflective Note Ahmed Nadeem – 507125 The Aga Khan University Medical College is definitely, what some would call it, a unique institution- unique in the sense that it helps its students get a more practical approach to learning. It values and preaches a learning process that is not limited to mere large class formats or presentations per say, but to a holistic system where ‘what you learn’ is linked to ‘how to apply what you have learned’ from the very inception of an individual’s medical learning. I being a first year medical student can definitely say that this process is helping me immensely, and the Community Health Clinic Observation is a testament to that. When I first got to know that first year medical students were being giving the chance to shadow actual physicians, the prospect alone excited me. And I genuinely couldn’t wait for the day when I would do so.
By continuing to partake in the Quality Assurance program and self-regulating, behaviours can fulfill the standard of being “safe, competent and ethical practitioners” (CNO, 2014, pp. 3). Setting of First Year of RN Practice The ideal setting of my first year of practice, as an RN will be at the Juravinski Hospital in the hematology unit. I have always known that I wanted to work in oncology and my placement on the hematology unit solidified my decision to pursue this goal. During a clinical shift, I would be responsible for providing care to patients with malignant hematological diseases, completing pertinent assessments and teaching skills, such as how to care for the mouth when experiencing mucositis and how to avoid infections.
The authors stated that it is important for medical professionals. Consequently, being able to reflect on work will allow an individual medical profession to successfully apply theoretical knowledge into a practise. There are numerous reflective models available for healthcare professionals to support the development of their lifelong learning. Two
I feel that there still exist psychological, cultural and social therapeutic elements to medicine that have not been exhaustively researched. I intend to pursue the connection of these three elements. I want to go to medical school to achieve growth, maturity and expertise. I need to go to medical school so that in future I can be life changer, to be someone who is capable and of gives back to the community. I want to be an example to others.
I chose this article because it was published by a well-known publisher, the authors credibility, and to learn about writing skills that I will need to have to become a nurse. Professors who implement writing exercises are helping their students practice which is a valuable tool in order to gain experience. As I try to get into Nursing School, I will keep in mind that writing is just as important as learning the factual
