The Melbourne Council House 2 or CH 2 is characterized by its modern architecture and the sustainable construction. The building is a good example to the architecture world that can serve as inspiration for other projects and buildings. With its facade made of wood and well differentiated, the CH2 design avoids the traditional architecture standards used in the construction. According to ????????, it was possible to analyse the performance of the old building in its surroundings as to the impacts on society due to the fact that there was already a building of the city council before. With the data analysed, the design for the new building could efficiently cover issues relating to problems that a building can cause on the environment in which it operates. Thus, it can be concluded that the interaction between the society and the environment is favourable for the two sides. Logically that the construction of any building affects negatively the environment, degrading not only in a direct manner, but also indirectly by the generation of solid waste. It is necessary to engage the whole people of the workplace, staff, contractors, subcontractors, employees etc. Everyone involved with the work must have the idea of reuse and recycling of wasted materials. To improve the knowledge of it, it is usual to use posters, banners and signs with information about the process.
The CH2 building contains 80 bicycle spaces and nine showers for use by cyclists. This encourages employees to have a healthy life and to preserve the environment since they will replace motor vehicles that consume energy sourced from non-renewable sources for clean transportation that does not generate damage and impacts to the nature.
