This book is about two kids both named Wes Moore and grew up blocks away from one another. Both grew up with no father figure, had a difficult childhood, hung out on the street corners, and ran into to trouble with the law. Although throughout all this trouble the author Wes Moore came out very successful. He was a Rhodes Scholar, decorated veteran, White House fellow, and a business leader whereas the other Wes Moore is convicted of murder and serving a life sentence in jail. It is a fascinating experience to live down the street from someone who shares the same exact name as you and live very similar lives but takes very different paths in life.

The first change that we found out about in the book was the group the Plane Janes that Melinda was in and they were best friend but they split over the summer, which was a change in a big group of friends. A second change between friendships was Ivy and Melinda they were apart of the Plane Janes but were never close until the ending of the school year. They were in the same art class which made them become close, through their artwork, which was a good change of friendship.

Although I did have a base of understanding about sexual assault, I knew there was still a lot for me to learn to truly know the topic. Before diving into the issue, I decided that I wanted to focus on a few specific questions.
People can learn to grow. People don’t stay the same for all of their life. They experience life to grow and change with it.
