Overview of The new Mercedes-Benz S-class (W222) Mahmoud Syouf Student Member, IEEE The University Of Jordan Syouf93@yahoo.com Alaa Kayyali Student Member, IEEE The University Of Jordan Alaa.kayyalli@gmail.com Areej Alotaibi Student Member, IEEE The University Of Jordan Areej19952006@hotmail.com Abstract-- Modern cars have a lot of different and advanced technologies in them, many of these new technologies were developed by Mercedes Benz, the new and innovative systems upgraded the riding experience to a more comfortable, smooth and safer experience. Research and development of different systems will be investigated in this paper. An overview on the chassis, engine, transmission, suspension, lighting, safety and assistance systems …show more content…
Air ducting and charge-air cooling The engine has two intake muffler modules, the wedge shaped gap is used to distribute the air for both filter housings with zero losses in the air in the pipes, the charge-air cooler has a counter flow design, with a separate low-temperature coolant circuit and its own expansion tank. This layout, which is the same in all S-class vehicles, achieves a very good response behavior and charge-air cooling values, in limited installation space. Fig. 3. Exhaust port design: Section through cylinder head and turbocharger D. Fuel Injection System The New generation of the spray-guided Gasoline Direct Injection system, uses BlueDirect combustion process and identical piezo injectors, in the S-class model Engines. The main idea of the gasoline direct injectors is that the fuel will be injected and burnt directly inside the combustion chamber. This is optimized by a control module that calculates the precise amount of fuel needed to reach the desired engine conditions depending on the Speed, Turbochargers and the Throttle …show more content…
TRANSMISSION The transmission system in the S-class is an automatic transmission system known as the 7G-tronic plus. which has seven speeds transmission gears, and contains electrical components and a control module to optimize and regulate the transmission, this technology is the modified version of the previous 7G-tronic transmission system • The development in lockup clutch provides the cooling oil a direct flow towards the coupling package and thus providing an effective and efficient cooling. The increase in the gap between the clutch disks is so that the clearance of the coupling package is optimally used and the drag torque is significantly reduced. This results in much improved performance, especially under cold-starting conditions, when typically engaging a gear reduces the rotating speed of the engine. A. Centrifugal pendulum
All people who are currently living in America probably have heard about the never ending battle happening within the truck making world. Ford and Chevy, two of the three most well-known brands of trucks within America have been battling model to model for many years. Many people who choose one or the other, once chosen a person will never stop liking that brand. Although Ford and Chevy trucks are distinctively diverse, but within each are hidden similarities. Ford and Chevy share a variety of similarities & differences between history, models, and performances of trucks.
In 1998 Dodge was in the works of making a new body style. 1998 was a half year so it came out with a new body style as well as a new engine. Cummins fans would soon refer to this particular model ’98.5 would be known as the Holy Grail. The Holy Grail is best described as the 12valve Cummins, with a 5 speed transmission, 4 wheel drive, with a second generation body style. The owner would have all of the perks of owning the new dodge body style, as well as all of the room, but the reliability and power of the older 12 valve engine.
The mousetrap car is propelled by the elastic energy from the wound spring of the mousetrap moving a lever that pulls on a string that is wrapped around one axle of the mousetrap car. As the lever pulls the string the axle turns and the string unwinds until there is no string, when this happens the end of the string that was wrapped around the axle releases and the mousetrap car should move for a distance because of the kinetic energy until friction causes it to
Nobody should be afraid to risk their life for others who need your help most especially when you are trying to protect them from calamity. The Wreckers, by Iain Lawrence is a thrilling novel that takes place in Pendennis in the County of Cornwall. John Spencer, 14 year-old survivor of the Isle of Skye shipwreck, is trying to escape the wreckers with the help of Mary, Simon Mawgan’s niece, and find his father, who also survived the wreck, so they can together go back to London. John kept searching for his father with the help of Mary even though he was taking the risk of getting killed. He managed to stand up against tough people who tried to kill him using his true grit and bravery.
The primary audience for my report is TESLA Is it possible that a driverless car can be created without the fear of fatal accidents? Annotated Bibliography Sule, S., Gupta, K., & Desai, V. (2015). AUTONOMOUS CARS: THE FUTURE OF ROADWAYS.
The technology that we have today is unbelievable compared to what the companies had when we first started to make cars. We all know that our future is getting more and more advanced, and we will possibly have these self driving cars within the next ten years. Overall, we need to prepare ourselves for the next generation of cars. This research paper is written to explain safety, pollution, and time that will be saved with the use of self driving cars.

The advancement of automobiles over time has directly affected the advancement of society as a whole. Society relies intensely and increasing on private motorized transport, vehicles are expected to become safer, more luxurious and powerful. These expectation, however do not take into account of the ensuring consequences such as greater emissions of air pollutants and greater exposure of people to hazardous pollution that causes serious health problems. All the evidence points to the magnitude of these adverse effects on health and to the need to identify solutions that both reduce risks to health and meet the requirement for mobility. This creates a major challenge to the governments, public health organizations, environment authorities and most importantly to the design engineers.
From this popularity, manufacturers have continued to make improvements in order to give rise to the most appropriate models. As a result, different electric vehicle model types which are unique and autonomous have been birthed. Today, individuals could get customized electric vehicles reflecting their tastes, preferences and needs. Electric vehicles have undergone rigorous safety tests just like the other vehicles powered by fuel.
BMW The 7-Series Project (A) AGENDA 1) Abstract/Executive Summary 2) Problem Statement 3) Case Analysis 4) Alternative Solutions 5) Recommendations 6) Limitations 7) Appendix Abstract/Executive Summary • To explore the BMW decision about how to manufacture the Prototype vehicles. • Previously, BMW prototypes were handcrafted at the company by skilled artists. • There is a proposal to change the process and make prototypes inorder to better understand the issues that may arise during final production phase.
I have no prior knowledge about Hybrid cars but once I heard about an electric car produced by Tesla and it made me very curious to know more about the topic I have done research on the Internet. In my speech today I am going to speak about the Development of hybrid vehicles. Innovations and Configurations in the Hybrid Vehicles have significant impacts on the environment. First, I will give a brief description about the Hybrid Vehicles and follow it up by discussing the Innovations and Configurations in Hybrid Vehicles and finally, discuss the Environmental impacts of hybrid vehicles.
An ignition system is a system for igniting a fuel-air mixture. Ignition systems are well known in the field of internal combustion engines such as those used in petrol (gasoline) engines used to power the majority of motor vehicles. The spark ignited Otto engine has a widespread use and has been subject to continuous, sophisticated
The customers of Mercedes Benz look for products that have certain benefits that hold value for them. Therefore, in terms of benefits sought, they seek for high-end integrated technology and functioning of the car, along with consistency in performance and most importantly they will look to purchase cars that will offer high sustainability and reliability. The Mercedes is purchased among customers that heavily use the product on a daily basis. As mentioned in the demographics segmentation section that people who purchase these cars are in the high income class group, which means that these customers will regularly use a mode of transportation to travel to workplaces.
1.1. Positioning the company – Competition Porsche Automobile Holding SE, usually shortened just to Porsche, is a German holding company with investments in the automotive industry and has about 18,000 employees all over the world (Porsche, 2014). The main competition for Porsche’s high-end cars like the 918 Spyder or the 911 Turbo or Turbo S is arguably from Italian specialty automaker Ferrari. In similar demographics the brands appeal through traditionally vehicles to quite different personalities.
