However, later on in that sentence, Lorraine comforts John telling him that his dad would forget about the punishment before it was put to action. So, while John’s parents may set some boundaries, he knows that there will never be a punishment to go along with him breaking them. Cody was very disturbed by this because she didn’t know why her friend would do this to herself. Through all of Cody and Meg’s emails she never mentioned trying to kill herself, it was always happy or what Cody though normal conversations. Cody wants to find out why she really did this.
