To select the sample for this study, data will be collected from two businesses; Alabama Power and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. The surveys will include segments in which the participants were asked to give an account of their; workplace, supervisor-subordinate relationship, leadership, employee performance, and organizational performance at the workplace (Scheidt-Nave et al., 2012). The other possible data collection may come from Survey Monkey. The instruments used for this study will be the OPS (all 67 participants will evaluate the organization), 360-degree feedback (57 subordinates will evaluate their supervisors and 10 supervisors will evaluate their subordinates), and the GRS (10 supervisors will evaluate their subordinates and 57 subordinates will evaluate
n research methods, every researcher uses a procedure or a means of measurement to collect data. For example, three types of basic measurement collection are self-reports, observational, and physiological. Each method has their pros and cons in research. Depending on the research you are conducting these methods of measurement can either guide you to great discovery the pro, or skew your data making it unreliable the con. Observational measure is the method of measuring behaviors by directly observing subjects (Leary, M. R. (2011).
According to Conley, Social Scientists have a set of typical approaches that they pursue in investigating any question that may arise. These rules are known as research methods. They are tools utilized to explore, describe, and explain various social phenomenons in a principled approach. The Two research method that I chose that Conley described in this textbook are Historical Methods and Experimental methods. Experimental methods seek to adjust the social scene in a certain manner for a given example of people and after that track what results that change yields; regularly include comparisons to a control group that did not experience such an intercession.
The three different research methods are naturalistic observations, surveys, and case studies. A naturalistic observation is when someone is observing people or animals in a natural environment or set. A naturalistic observation would be good to use when you observing people in a a cafeteria. For example under appropriate conditions, you can observe the amount of people who naturally order healthy food verses unhealthy food. Naturalistic observation are good only if you take the time to observe people in their natural environments.
The “Outsiders” made me think about the rules that groups give us are strongly founded on what they see as defiance. It made me think that some rules are given within a group are not remotely necessary and that we as a society are to blame for what is deemed as “socially acceptable”. Deviants may not even be actually deviants but that’s what they are labeled by society because they think, what the deviant did was wrong, which could be made up by what society thinks is okay behavior. The relation to this reading and the sociology course shows how society controls us and how they consider we should act. It reminded me of how society tells us as women that showing off our body parts is deemed as trashy and not lady like, but men can do so without
The American Sociological Association (ASA) has multiple parts to its code of ethics all in which values protecting the individual. The Sociologists have a foundation built for them; these guidelines are expected to be followed. Guidelines that are important are as follows: Sociologists as a whole should never strive for anything less than what they deserve. They should also have manners such as respect and being courteous to other in activity they partake in.
Before the survey questions relevant to the topic are presented, the first 3 questions cover background information that i felt was necessary for this topic. Public attitudes involve the public as a whole, including families, different ages, and therefore it is important to gather this personal information about the respondent. Public attitudes as a whole are important in this topic as victims of crime tend to be the more vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, females, and young people. From this their response to the reintegration of offenders maybe substantially different to those of the less vulnerable groups. Additionally, offenders most likely to be reintegrated into society are those who have committed sexually orientated crimes and as a result of this, women and children are most at risk of being victims of these crimes (Rubin, 1984).
Assessments and interventions undertaken with offenders necessitate an acknowledgment that social work in the criminal justice system is a political activity, with statutory social workers bound by the legislative and policy frameworks. It is also a moral activity, with a set of standards and codes of practice that determine the values and ethics of practice. Most often our role is determined by a court or a parole board with terms and conditions of supervision and compliance which must be adhered to. The social worker must, however, balance the expectations of the prosecutor with the needs of the offender. The social work role, therefore, becomes one of both support and control.
Observations This kind of technique is very common used by most of the qualitative researchers, whereby they study on individual or individuals in effort to collect a raw data on programs, processes, or behaviours which been studied. The data is usually providing an information of a wide range of behaviors that occurred from varieties of interactions. Observations can develop a holistic perspective upon the study case based on both formative and summative phases of evaluation.

The three descriptive research methods that I will discuss are Naturalistic Observation, Survey, and Case Study. Naturalistic Observation is a research method in which people or animals are observed in their natural habitat without any controls or variables. This type of research method may be conducted if you want to see how people truly act without being watched. For example, this research method may be used to determine who are healthier shoppers, men or women? The researcher would go to a food store and take count throughout the day of how many men and women he finds in the fruit and vegetable isles, and how many he find in the snack isles.
1. Which methods of research are appropriate for the study of different behaviors? There are multiple methods of research in psychology. But two that are most appropriate to study behavior is naturalistic observation and longitudinal studies. Naturalistic behavior is a research method in which psychologist study and observe the subject in a normal environment without interfering with the subject.
Common sense is basically can be understood as follow. That is, when an individual is able to judge and able to understand certain matters that is already expected by majority of people in the society; without the need of any specific nor detailed explanation. As Miller (2017) have stated, there are mainly 2 philosophical term of common sense which have been derived from a philosophical debate. The first philosophical term is proposed by Aristotle.

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH THEORY 3.1 QUALITATIVE RESEARCH Qualitative research is a form of research in which the researcher collects and interprets data, meaning the researcher is as important in the research process as the participants and the data they provide. Reason and Rowan (2004) have argued that the core element of a qualitative research approach is to connect meanings to the experiences of respondents and their lives. According to Clissett (2008) qualitative research involves a variety of research methods that can be used to explore human experience, perceptions, motivations and behaviours. Qualitative research is characterised by collection and analysis of words in the form of speech or writing.
Sociology, the study of social behavior, can shed light on many aspects of everyday life. Things that many people assume may be deemed false by sociological research. Sometimes these facts can even be unsettling and inconvenient. Many aspects of life and human behavior can be studied by sociologists and confirmed by sociological research. However, there are many aspects that affect the research that is discovered.
