Eventually Red Auerbach pulled the trigger, and traded Ed Macauley and Cliff Hagan to the St. Louis Hawks for Bill Russell (Shoals). Both of them ended up becoming Hall of Famers, so the Celtics gave up quite a bit to get Bill Russell (Shoals). Bill Russell made an immediate impact on the Celtics, leading them to the Championship in his rookie season (Shoals). Unfortunately, Bill Russell played in a time where whites and African Americans were still separated. Granted, the racism aspect was slowly dwindling it was still present.
Charles Barkley, a hall of fame basketball player and a sport analyst, said “[w]ell, the NBA is water down. The NBA is the worst I’ve ever seen it” (Mutoni). When Stephen Curry became the first unanimous MVP,which means everyone voted for him, in NBA history, it proves Charles Barkley point of how the NBA is “water down.” It shows that the NBA doesn’t have that many great players. Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest player of all time, won the MVP when his team achieve an astounding record of 72 wins and 10 losses. Even he didn’t win unanimous due to the fact that he was surrounded by great players that were worthy of winning the MVP.
There have been many great NBA players take the court and do amazing things. Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in a game. Kobe Bryant once scored 81 points in the modern era. Even Curry 's teammate, Klay Thompson, set a record last season for most points in a quarter with 37. The list of great players who did great things on the court also includes Oscar Robertson (averaged a triple-double over an entire season), Michael Jordon, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem-Abdul Jabbar and Jerry

He has faced many challenges in his life to get to where he is and no one has came in the way of what he achieved making it in the NBA. Many talk bad about him but the those are the people that don’t watch him or just like another player that he’s better than.
There have been many amazing players in NBA history. One position of the game with many hall of fame players is center. Centers anchor defenses and are the primary rebounders on the team. A hall of fame center with an outstanding nba career was Shaquille O’Neal. O’Neal had his struggles early on against other centers like Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo but he would overcome it.
In the 1984 NBA Finals, Johnson again encountered rival Larry Bird, who had signed with the Boston Celtics. This was the first of several match-ups between the two teams. The Celtics beat the Lakers in a tight competition—four games to three—for the 1984 championship. The Lakers, however, took down the Celtics the following year in the finals. Johnson was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002.
If there are any criticisms for this book it would stem from the over utilization of the spotlight placed on 5’3 guard Bogues. Bogues who became a Perennial superstar in the NBA, definitely deserved praise, however, Danois may have “ran the well dry” by continuously placing the limelight on Bogues with stories such as “When the fans saw “Mugsy” announced during the starting lineup, snickers and laughter came raining down from the stands” (3:45-3:46) and then Bogues would continue to show the crowd how good he was and he would always earn their respect. That story seemed to repeat itself throughout the narrative and began

Born on February 17, 1963, Michael Jeffrey Jordan is arguably the greatest to bless the sport and culture.
Winning the NBA championship is the challenge that every team wants to achieve at the end of the season. In Kobe Bryant’s 19 seasons, he won the championship title 5 times; Michael Jordan’s 15 seasons, he won the title 6 times. What makes Bryant’s 5 championships more impressive than Jordan’s 6 is that he was lacking “star power” on his team, while Jordan was surrounded by it. Michael Jordan had the benefit of playing with John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen during all of his championships, which made it easier for him to pull off his 6 NBA titles. For Michael’s first championship in the finals in 1991, his team won the series easily in a 4-1 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers.
