What was your own middle school experience like? What extracurricular activities were you involved in? In my opinion, I did not quite like the middle school I attended. However, I did meet some great friends that I am still friends with to this day. They did offer summer school for those who needed or wanted to attend. In my memory, I don’t recall the middle school I went to having any extracurricular activities that the students can participate in. I do remember, me participating in art, music and chorus class. My friends and I loved to read books, so we had own little club with a group of friend who loved to read as well. We would read books, exchange books, and talk about them. In Middle-School, mainly all I really did was attend class, attend some activities that were available and hang out with friends. I also use to Ice-skate a lot after school ended in middle-school as well. However, the High-School I attended did …show more content…
I even applied and got accepted in a College for Marine Biology in Key West, FL. Reason is, I love Marine life and wanted to work with Marine animals. It was my dream to work with animals and I personally love the ocean. However, things fell through and I could not attend that College in Florida because I could not afford it. So, I decided to go to Middle GA State University. My major was Biology, but then I realized that it wasn’t right for me so I switched to Psychology and feel like I made the right decision. To my surprise, I can still work with animals in a Zoo or an Aquarium with a major in Psychology. Since High-School, My career interest has stayed the same but the route on how to get there and what to do has changed a lot. I’ve done a lot of thinking, and quite honestly still thinking on what I really want to do. So far, it all falls back to working with animals but I believe it is always best to have a back-up plan career wise for which I am currently working
Moving from elementary school to middle school meant moving to the other side of the school with all of the high schoolers. I felt like I was becoming older, gaining more responsibilities. In middle school I was reunited with my friend, Coleton Reed. This time, he was in the same grade as me. My favorite part about being in middle school was being allowed to play sports for the school.
Fourth grade was a strange year for many of us. People moved away and new people came to school. Some classmates came back from summer with an extra foot against anyone else. Some changed for the better or for worse. People gained and lost friends throughout the year.
Middle school was extremely ardous for me . I constantly had to write essays every single night because we read one novel every week. It seemed like I could never have a break from writing. The sheer amount of homework was nerve-wracking because I never expected this much homework. I remember expressing some of my my thoughts in my journal such as how hard writing essays was and how challenging my math tests were.
All my 8th grade classmates and I sit on the cafeteria floor at Daniel Wright Middle School, giggling and staring at the gigantic screen. A slideshow plays. Often mortifying pictures of our younger selves appear with our names. I recollect all the vivid memories from middle school and earlier, like when my 5th grade teacher accidentally threw a snowball at one of my classmates. My friends and I sit together, hollering when we see each other on the screen.
Since the age of four, my mind was set on becoming a veterinarian. Twelve years later, this is still the goal. Little did I know that the journey to achieve this goal was not going to be easy. When I had decided to work towards becoming a veterinarian, I had pictured myself in the future helping animals just like Dr.
Middle school was an extremely rough time for me. I was bullied constantly. I was like the figurative punching bag of the school (I was never physically harmed). This eventually made me leave the public school system and go to a completely different Catholic High School. I picked the one High School in the area that nobody from my old school was going to.
From there I desired to learn more about marine mammals and their role in the ecosystem. That year I also had the chance to go SCUBA diving for the first time. It was an incredible and life-changing experience; I felt like I was on another planet. That is when I decided to
In my future, I see myself working in the Animal Science field. I plan on working hard through college in order to be successful in my career. After I receive my Associated degree from Hawkeye Community College, I am going to finish off my education at a four year college. During my high school career, I was involved in sports and FFA all four years. In FFA, I participated in numerous activities such as Farm Safety day, ATV Safety, horse judging and a food science competition.
When I entered middle school, I changed in many different ways. It changed my attitude, who I talked to, and even what I ate. Back in elementary school, I used to bring my lunch to school everyday. I did because the food there was intolerable. Here in middle school, the food is amazing.
Middle school is a time where kids start to develop their own identity, build new friendships, and transition into being a young adults. Personally, middle school was a rough time; I lacked confidence in I was, and the fear that I wasn't good enough controlled my life. In seventh grade one of the girls I was friends with made the comment that I was too fat to be her friend, and I didn't deserve to be included in our friend group. As a result of being too afraid of finding new friends, who would accepted me for who I was as a person rather than what I looked like, I tried to gain the approval of the ones I already had.
It is a cliché to say I have always known what I want to do with my life, but in my case it happens to be true. I have always wanted to give back, even from a young age I was donating toys and food to families around the holiday season and helping raise money and gather non-perishable foods for the local food bank. I was drawn to the feeling of seeing someone smile after getting something so simple or accomplishing something meaningful to them. When I was considering what I wanted to do with my life I thought of many professions from Veterinarian to Social Worker to our beloved Occupational Therapy.
I started school on the 27th (I think) of January 2010. I went to Hampden Park Public School and boy did I love it. I was one curious kid. I guess that is why I loved watching ‘Curious George’ (I still do).
Sadly, it was the end of summer and it was the year I was going into 7th grade for junior high! I spent a long time trying to find the perfect school. The junior high all of my friends were going to was Desert Ridge, which was a huge school with many long hallways that never end. It was very close and convenient to our house. My family and I also found a school called GCA.
Personal Narrative Essay Believe it or not, sometimes a gracious action can bring a huge influence on a person. When I read the introduction that instructor Heller wrote, there is a sentence she wrote: “Sometimes the most influential moments in our lives are smaller moments, events that we may not recognize as influential until years after the experience.” For some reason, I related to it strongly. My story is about my high school experience. Also, I will share some significant moments in my life, and how these smaller moments changed my personality.
Kindergarten to 8th grade I attended a private school called Holy Family Catholic School. The school was very small along with classes, teachers extremely strict and hallways always quiet, the totally opposite from Dr. Henry A. Wise. My first day of high school I was very nervous I was not used to big classes, endless amount of students in the halls and the loud ruckus. This was an educational challenge for me because it was a totally different learning environment for me that i had to get used to quickly. My studying habits also challenged me through high school because test and quizzes were given out frequently and if you didn't know how to study you probably wouldn’t get a good grade.
