Use of Simulations in the Military
Throughout the years, the search for the most effective training methods remains a pertinent topic for serious military discussions. Earlier military training was typically composed of an intricate combination of several methods, including practice at the shooting range, and even studying books to help new recruits comprehend common battle strategies. In the last hundred years however, the growth of technology opened many new gateways and opportunities that allowed the vital use of computers in the military. Computers now fill a role in every position in the military, ranging from flying planes, commanding troops, and even training. This advanced

This very simple game laid the foundation of what a game is defined as today. The game simply featured two small spaceships, controlled by two human players, navigating space and trying to survive the longest, which represents how simulations are currently set up, one team versus another. Eventually, gaming was implemented into military training through a game named Marine Doom, a heavy modification of the commercially successful game Doom (McLeroy). The fact that the simulation spawned out of a commercial game proved that, to some extent, modern shooting games taught valuable skills. This modern simulation was the first of its kind and created an entry way for simulations and videogames to be implemented into military training. All of the aforementioned games and simulators were very primitive and non-intuitive yet eventually evolved into complex tools that feature a numerous number of …show more content…
The huge scale of cooperation provided numerous benefits, the main being it has allowed soldiers to converge and discuss potential threats and how they could implement them into the simulator and react appropriately. The large number of players in a single match also motivated players to perform better in order to satisfy teammates and as a result, gain more knowledge and insight on the scenarios played. Another technological feat implemented into the games presents itself through stats that represented attributes of real life soldiers, such as accuracy or stamina, that when placed in the simulator, affected each person’s avatar (Insinna). When these stats were implemented, soldiers became more motivated to train in real life, even going to the shooting range to improve real life accuracy and game accuracy. The progression that has taken place as a result gave the soldiers a game-like sense of progression, rewarding them for their actions at every step. The usefulness of the simulations came from the countless number of functions and features that, when used, create numerous scenarios that benefit soldiers in many
The Pressure was high for the girls in the battle against Refugio. The team was up by 2, “It was a tough game,” Jurnee Peikert (9) said, “They definitely put up a fight”. Back and forth, the score for each team was neck and neck after each inning. No matter if they were on the field or in the dugout, the girls continued to support their teammates.
GAME PLAY The game play is exceptionally addictive, including and fascinating. The expert sharpshooter shooter is holding a sheltered and concealed position where all foe troopers can be seen and sniped. There are four missions to finish with boundless ammunition.

I am proud to recommend SSG Jacob Worley for consideration as a United States Army Warrant Officer Candidate. SSG Worley possesses the qualities required of a future Army Warrant Officer, specifically those needed to excel in the latest addition to the Warrant Officer Military Career Specialties (MOS), the Cyber Operations Technician, 170A. He has served as my Arabic Language Analyst and NCOIC of Analysis and Production for the 102 Combat Mission Team (CMT) for nearly two years. During this time his technical proficiency, attention to detail and adaptability has been equal and at times, has surpassed the skills of individuals assigned to more technical cyber roles within the team.
Many leaders, both ground and aviation, recognized the need for aviation planning abilities at the BCT level. The BAE would be able to provide well rounded aviators and enlisted aviation personnel that can assist ground forces in full spectrum aviation operations. The structure has changed since 2006 as the BAE continues to evolve to meet the demands of the current fight. As a basis, each BAE will have a Brigade Aviation Officer, a BAE Plans Officer, an Aviation Tactical Operations Officer, an Aviation Operations Sergeant, and an Aviation Operations Specialist (Headquarters Department of the Army, Army Training Circular 1-400, 2006). The duties that each of these personnel will have are largely dictated by the mission.
It might have a strong influence on future of the military culture. - Military training needs to be intense. But proper care needs to be taken that it should not be devoid of empathy. A certain preconditioning may soften up and facilitate some aspects of military training. The main objective of military is total compliance in service towards the mission.
Broadening is achieved through career with experiences and education in different cultures and organizational settings. There are different opportunities in the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) that could represent an opportunity to broadening their career, these are in the area of Recruitment, High Head Quarters (HHQ), Instructor, National Guard Bureau (NGB), Title 10 or a Nominative position. The best combination to broadening and stay competitive is that we can have NCOs that meet the requirements of the NCOPDS and in turn have the growth that the Army needs. Broadening NCOs are better able to operate in complex environments. After grounds conflicts and look to the future, it has been learned that the domains of learning should be expanded by providing institutional, operational and self-development educational level to the
World War Video Games In Steven Johnson ’s essay “Games” (2005), he constructs his argument by saying that playing video games is no better or worse than reading, it is simply exercising different skills. What kept my interest in this short essay was the fresh take on the subject on how video games effect young adults. He addresses the audience knowing they will agree with his contrast of the two subjects or take it to be completely true. His explanation of it allows him to reach even the biased of readers to accept the rest of his argument.
Participation in the SIMSOC program permitted our class as a whole to experience the role of a citizen in a simulated society where each decision made by any individual in a region affects the whole society. Our society was divided into four regions, comprised of Red, Green, Yellow and Blue regions. Since there was no programmed outcome for the simulated society, the success or the failure of the society completely depended on every decision made by the participants (Gamson, 2000). Also SIMSOC enforces some rules and regulations upon its participants and the participants or citizens of the society are faced with some issues like abuse of power, justice, diversity, trust, and leadership as they negotiated their way through the simulated society
Colder Than Hell: A Marine Rifle Company at Chosin Reservoir was written and published by Joseph R. Owen in 1996. This book gives us a riveting point-of-view of the early and uncertain days of the Korean War through the eyes of Owen himself, as a platoon leader (PL) in a Marine rifle company. As a PL of a mortar section in Baker-One-Seven-Baker Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment- Owen witnessed his hastily assembled men of a few regulars and reservists (who to mention some that have not gone to boot camp) quickly harden into the superb Baker-One-Seven known today. He makes it known quickly (in the foreword and the preface) that some of the major problems he initially encountered was due to how unprepared his unit was. Owen makes the
Although the games can be misleading to kids to what’s right and what isn’t, or teach kids that violence is ok, these simulated games are a good way for kids to make close bonds with teammates, and even the community. It also teaches that perseverance is key to make a team
If I were given the opportunity to create my own student club or organization, I would create The Flight Simulation Club, since I am interested in Aerospace Engineering. I have used Microsoft Flight Simulator for almost nine years. Making this club would help all Engineering students understand and study the physics of flight. A lot of students in different engineering majors could make a very effective use of it. For example, Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering.

Time management in the military Eddie White DI Page Time management in the military Time management is very important as any organization or individual who want to achieve his/her goals must strictly observe time. Time management requires someone to prioritize some tasks in some way; one should label some tasks as more imp01iant than others. The key factor in effective time management is usually accuracy because when you have accurate model of reality you are in a position to determine which task is more important than other. You can only realize the real gains in time management at the top but not at the bottom. Inaccurate understanding of reality can make your missions, goals and your projects to be meaningless
Various games are activities that have been around since the beginning of time has evolved into a technology based forum for all ages called video games. These types of games have become an extremely popular activity and are a big part of a lot of people’s everyday lives. Instead of looking at video games as a leisurely hobby that one plays in their spare time, it is now looked as a positive benefit for people to play. Playing video games are beneficial, according to some studies they can develop cognitive skills, create social connections, and stimulate creativity.
