Minecraft can be used to aid in educating students about landscape surveying. Landscape surveying is a key to building bridges and roads, among other things. Landscape surveying also is a crucial part of creating maps used from the average person who needs directions to settling issues in court. Though the use of natural block generation, Minecraft creates an infinite number of different scenarios that can teach the incoming landscape surveyor various techniques, or it can be used to see if people are interested in the profession. Often, teenagers have no idea what they want to do with their lives after they leave high school. Using Minecraft as a test run of certain careers can aid students in narrowing down what field they want to go into. Land surveying is only one possible application of Minecraft.

Playing the game is also good for teaching multiplication. Building a simple house could be an excellent process for doing quick multiplication. Say the kids were assigned to build a 10 by 8 by 5 house. They would then not only have to calculate how many blocks they need for the construction of the house, but they would also be learning about volume at the same time. Another aid for younger children could be the many different types of blocks. Stained clay and wool would help them with learning their colors. Note blocks could be used in a music class, to help children learn the difference between pitches. Different minerals, metals, and gemstones teach value and usages of many objects. And, an early lesson in ecology never hurts, and although Minecraft has many creatures that do not exist outside of the game, animals such as polar bears, llamas, and many different kinds of livestock. This activity not only helps students with their fraction multiplication and division skills but also reiterates vocabulary (numerator, denominator, etc.) and gets at the basics of understanding what fractions actually mean. By making the game into something of an activity where students are trying to get the largest (or smallest) number, they need to understand that where they place their drawn cards can greatly impact their final number. The greatest benefit of this activity, and many that I came across, was the opportunity it provided students to solve problems and work together. This, to me, makes a huge difference when engaging students and making learning fun.

Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. Even though I have planned my activity and image how children might approach to the materials, I restrain instructions and let children express how they play and learn.
