Miss Peregrine 's Home for Peculiar Children was a film directed by Tim Burton in , which preferred the darkness and quirkiness fantasy films like Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Mars Attacks, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland etc., and won lots of awards. It was based on the same name novel by Ransom Riggs in 2011, ranked in New York Times Bestseller list been 96 weeks and sold millions of copies. Some of the actors has worked with Tim Burton several occasion, such as Terence Stamp, he act as Abe, the grandfather of Jake and a Peculiar who can see invisible “Hollows”. The second one is Eva Green, she act as Miss Peregrine is an “Ymbryne” who can manipulate time, shift into a peregrine falcon and the headmistress of the Peculiar Children’s Home. Judi Dench also cooperate with the Burton at times, which is the henchman of Miss Peregrine.
At the beginning of the film, there are showing the picture and name of the Peculiar children with a suspenseful background music, but haven’t introduce clearly about the peculiar ability, it’s make audiences curious about them. Suddenly, the scene jumped to the market that the protagonist Jake and his friend were talking about the double Dutch call from his grandfather Abe. The story was started in a rude way and it’s not continuity editing enough.
