In my career, I aspire to be an individual who works to improve the lives of others while not sacrificing any of my personal values. The most important values to me are honesty, integrity, and kindness. The most important principles to me are to never lie, to always do the right thing even when no one is looking, and to be kind to everyone I encounter. These are important to me because I strive to live by the golden rule of treating others the way I would want to be treated and I would want to interact with individuals who maintain that integrity and kindness. They are a company that integrates all aspects of real estate into the business to be as hands on as possible for their clients. The mission statement at Blue Ridge Companies is “Creating a positive impact for all we touch so that we leave each community better than we found it.” This mission statement fits directly into my priorities for my career. I hope to have a positive impact on just one individual in my career and Blue Ridge Companies prioritizes this. By enabling this strong internal culture, employees feel more empowered to speak up and prevents having employees who say okay to unethical actions just because it is being asked of them by their employers. This emphasis on a strong internal culture also aligns with my priorities. As I stated earlier, I want to be the type of leader who enables their employees to feel comfortable at all levels to speak up and voice their opinions.
