When looking at colleges Missouri Southern State University was the very first choice that came to mind. Missouri Southern State University has many names that it goes by, such as Southern, MSSU, and even MoSo. Southern is known for many things such as their class size, placement rate, tuition, and the fact that they offer A+ program for students. Another big factor for choosing MSSU was the distance away from home which is 3.6 miles. Southern offers a program called A+ Leadership Scholarship. With the A+ Leadership Scholarship MSSU will pay $1,000 per academic year and $500 per semester for a max of at least 8 year. A+ can help pay for tuition, fees, books, and rooms (A Leadership). However, when entering the dental program, students are required to have a GPA of 2.75 at least to even enroll in the program. But, on top of that all applications are required to be turned in by January 31 of that year. From there the application will be looked over by the Selection Committee for Dental Hygiene. After the Selection Committee approves the application a criminal record check is then ran. A student must then take a physical and dental examination and must have an acceptable health status. While in the dental program a random drug test will take place throughout the year (Admission).
