BYOD policy increases the risk to distract students during class discussions. Many people have concerns about the use of any gadgets in classrooms, as they believe that these gadgets could be a very high destruction to students compared from their normal learning activities. My second reason is it is very easy to use, Wherever you go, there is going to be Wi-fi to connect to you 're Chromebook.
Of course, the teacher does not have total control over each student, there are means by which an instructor can yield the results she/he is looking for. Although our authors both bring up strong points about the use of cell phones in classrooms, they sometimes overstated the degree to which they are disruptive. The authors also give a good idea as to how the reduction of cell phone use would help classrooms become better learning environments with more respect for instructors and peers and how one’s grades have the possibility of improving once their cell phones have been put away. If purely stating these ideas to students would not help the students use their phones less, then incentives or penalizations can be offered by the instructor to make such a problem
Phones should be allowed for use during school Cell phones aren 't only used for being on social media and distracting kids, nowadays, there are many other benefits when it comes to use of electronics. Cell phones should be allowed in school not only because a study shows it makes students happy, according to a study conducted in 2005, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Laura King, and Ed Diener found that happiness causes success, but also as an aid, in case of an emergency, and for easier communication skills. To start off with, phones can be used as an aid. Whether that is learning or memory aid.
Sixty five percent of students sneak their phones in school, and are distracted by it.” This means that other students are losing focus while trying to learn. On the other hand, we can use the tablet devices in a good way to avoid all these defects, by observing teachers or the parents for their children and students and put some guidance of using tablets, such as placing the appropriate time. Apps like Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, and Buzzfeed can cause a decrease in the overall products of students’ works and an increase in the amount of time needed to complete the product because of the incessant notifications that show up on an individual’s screen every five minutes. In a 2011 study conducted by Wade Jacobsen and Renata Forste on “Academic and Social Outcomes of Electronic Media Use Among College Students,” they concluded from more than 1,000 undergraduates that 2.45 hours are spent on the internet, and an hour is usually spent watching television. High school students spend roughly about 2.3 hours on technology and media everyday, and as new media platforms come out, more time is spent on them. The temptations of answering someone or looking at who liked your picture on Instagram causes great disruptions in studying and workplaces. When a student’s final product is not up to the standards or is incomplete, it can severely affect their grades in school.
