As technology advances, many of the things that were once common household items are no longer found in the average house Modern Technology is taking over everyone’s lives whether we like it or not. Time spent with family members has become scarce. Most people have unplugged themselves from the real world and plugged themselves into their technology. Although technology can be useful, the advancements in technology has caused so many families to change how they interact with one another. Many problems have arisen in many families all over the world due to modern technology. Technology has had the chance to take important bonding time away from families and even change the way they view the people in their lives.

Scrolling through social media, there are many photos and stories about “perfect” families. In the article Social Media’s Impact on Society, Ms. Shellabarger states, “Social media also causes many young adults to compare themselves to others and envy a life that may not be attainable since many brands and individuals only share a small percentage of their lives online. It is important to remember that an Instagram or Twitter may just be a reflection of the ‘best’ parts of a person's life and isn't an accurate representation of them as a whole.” Social media users need to remember this before they start comparing themselves and others to these Instagram models they see all over their feed. Also, family members embarrass many people by what they post, like, and comment on.
