Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Situation of Analysis Plant growth is the increase in cell size and number (Fred H. Wilt, 2014). From the seeds that was planted under the soil and in to a plant that emerge from the soil. The growth of plants is a natural process that occurs every time a plant is being planted. Plants have cells that help them to grow or increase in size. Not all plants grow as tall as a tree it is according to their origin or type of plant that the seeds came from, for example, mongo seeds do not grow as tall as trees like bonsai, the shrubs and flowers. Some plants grow as tall as trees as or more than the size of it, like the bamboo they grew as three feet tall. The use of mongo seeds is a great factor for this experiment. Mongo seeds were chosen in this study due to its simplicity in planting it. The mongo seeds can be found in different supermarkets, therefore, it is used in this study. Pollution means the effect of human activities that destroys the environment; it is observed in land, air, and water (www.businessdictionary.com). One is the temperature of the weather. According to Bonnie L. Grant, 2014, cold temperature can freeze a plant’s cell and it can cause the plant not to grow. The experiment was done in a scientific way that would be using materials that can be used to do this experiment. They think that this experiment can be very useful for others and not only for them. They have formulated plenty of hypotheses, one in which they believe that this experiment will be a success due to the materials and places that they can found and the other being the fact that they too have an equally negative insight that they will not succeed due to the lack of the things they will need. They started gathering information on how they will do this
