INTRODUCTION In this report, a few topics will be discussed. The first topic that will be discussed is the monsoon weather system. The points include formation of monsoon, regions affected by monsoon as well as the atmospheric and oceanic process that occurs during Southwest and Northeast Monsoon. The second topic to be discussed is the trend of precipitation and temperature in Malaysia. The points include trend of precipitation according to region in Malaysia as well as variability of precipitation rate in different regions of Malaysia during monsoon seasons. The third topic will be focusing on the impacts of monsoon to regions affected by monsoon in terms of social economic impact as well as impact on wildlife. The forth topic will discuss …show more content…

According to the study done by Suhaila et al. (2010), the total amount of rainfall index is higher during Northeast Monsoon Season compared to Southwest Monsoon season. The largest average total amount of rainfall index was recorded along the eastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. During the Northeast monsoon season, lowland areas and foothills in the east are directly exposed to the monsoon flow resulting in heavy rainfall in these areas. On the other hand, the highest total amount rainfall index was observed over the northwestern region of Peninsular Malaysia during Southwest Monsoon region especially inland areas. Large amount of rainfall of area in these areas may be influenced by their geographical features which are sheltered by the mountain range. According to Dale (1959), instead of higher altitude, largest amount of rain usually occurs over adjacent lowlands and foothills. On the contrary, lowest average amount of rain was found to occur along the western coast of Peninsula which is considered to be the driest part of wester
Freshwater is also looked at as floodplain management is observed. The patterns of environmental quality are also examined. My hypothesis is that pH levels and drainage account for the significant differences in vegetation between the areas. This is because both drainage and pH levels play a role in what type of soil is available. The pH level determines the types of plants that grow and the drainage effects the type of soil present, which influences the
The theme that applies to the stories There Will Come Soft Rains (Teasdale), There Will Come Soft Rains (Bradbury), Nightmare Number Three, and By The Waters of Babylon is that one day, humans will cause their own self-destruction. In By The Waters of Babylon, it is set in the future, and the son of the priest has a vision of the past where the “gods” were having a civil war. On page 7, it says, “When gods war with gods they use weapons we do not know . . . It was the time of the Great Burning and Destruction.”

The Average Maximum Temperature is 85.8°F in July, whereas the Lowest Average Minimum Temperature is 23.9°F in January. Also noted is the Average Annual Snowfall of 10.7 inches. Scientists are finding that the aquifer could be at risk with the climbing climate. It triggers an increase in rainfall rather than snowfall in the mountains resulting in less groundwater. Reduction of water supply is also because of streamflow timing due to increased
"There Will Come Soft Rains" is a science fiction short story by Ray Bradbury. It incorporates many expressive languages, provides detailed clues for the reader to make inferences and it conveys deep messages. To start with, the narrative is set in the future on August 4th, 2026. The story took place inside an abandoned mechanical house beside surrounded by ruins. Throughout the story, there was an anonymous voice repeating the time and indicating reminders to complete jobs.
Karla Elizondo Mr. Pierce ENG 1013 December 4, 2016 Analysis of There Will Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury As we advance in technology we seem to have a fear of replacement, causing us to worry and think about our own future. Throughout the years we can see how technology has made our lives easier, yet it can’t take charge on its own. Ray Bradbury’s Short Story ‘There will come soft rain’ was written in his perspective in how things would be in August 4th 2026 as he repeatedly mentioned. This Story takes place in a radioactive town in Allendale, California, inside the only house that remained after a nuclear bomb incident has taken all the human life.
Ray Bradbury uses his short stories as a public service announcement. He visions different futures and tries to stop them from happening by sharing the consequences with the world. He warns his audience of the dangers of losing touch, taking the easy choice, and technology leaving humanity behind. In most stories, Bradbury shows his love for connectivity with people.

One area might have huge amount of rain, like in Kauai, where there is between 400 to 600 inches of rain annually on Mount Wai’ale’ale, and then the other side, at the coast might only get 20 to 30 inches. On Maui, you could be enjoying the beach at Lahaina and then drive up to Haleakala and see
Life As A Meteorologist 1 Weather is all around us all of the time. We feel it, see it, and sometimes hear it. Think of all of the amazing things that the weather does each day. When you turn on the television to see if you’re able to go fishing this weekend or if you need to take a jacket, the person on the screen will most likely be a meteorologist. A meteorologist is a person who studies the weather and forecasts it.
When it rains, the water will flow from the hills to the lower area and then stagnant. Eventually the water will increase and flash floods will occur. 2.8.3 River Erosion River
Deserts cover 20 percent of the earth’s land surface, which is close to thirty million square miles. Deserts are large and dry regions that receive very little amount of rainfall per year, have a lot of bare soil and low vegetation cover. Despite the common misconception of all deserts being dry and hot, there are cold deserts as well. Areas covered in ice or snow, with limited vegetation plantation, are sometimes called 'cold deserts '. However, in this essay, we will be discussing on survival in hot desert.
Summers have an air of relaxation to them for most people, but for me I can barely find a moment's rest. Because I work in the hospitality industry, summer is the busiest time of the year. My apartment is a 3 minute walk from the beach and yet I only rarely get to enjoy it. Although there are days, there are precious days, when I can just stop and smell the ocean. Where I can just sit there all day, seemingly without a care in the world.
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
The formation of the main reason is due to flood alluvial. When floods occur, especially in mountainous areas, the following
