Cult films make up more and more of midnight screenings and are used to show stories that are often controversial in ways that will show the general public what is going on in their society. The movie opens with King Arthur “riding” into town, not really riding but having his servant beat coconuts together behind him so it sounds like a horse’s hooves. Even from the beginning of the movie the satire that made the movie what it is today is clearly visible. Arthur goes into town to find his Knights of the Round Table: “Sir Bedevere the Wise, Sir Lancelot the Brave, Sir Galahad the Pure, Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot, and the aptly named Sir Not-appearing-in-this-film”(Monty Python and the Holy Grail). The movie is based on the knight’s many adventures on their way to find the Holy Grail. On their way to finding the Grail they face a varying array of horror, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a group of shrubbery-challenged knights, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen. This movie was different from many cult films due to how this movie was a part of an ongoing series of sketches, movies, and comedies, under the same title of Monty Python. The cast consisted of 4 main actors, all of which are males, who play nearly all the roles (even female characters). Monty Python was a British comedy film that came to America and took the country by storm. This film was unique in many ways but one main way it was unique was how it dealt …show more content…

Written as an indirect attack at the labor industry, the real driving force behind the popularity of the novel was that many readers could not fathom the truth behind the meat industry. Which means, rather than seeing change in labor rights, many people instead fixated on his vivid descriptions of meat packing in the text. Sinclair embodied such descriptions of rotten meat, toxic chemicals, dirt, sawdust and even rat droppings, that consumers across the nation could not believe was actually being sold in stores and butcher shops.
