The prevalence of moral issues in our society has greatly affected the course of our everyday lives. Although our modern society has overcome a lot of dilemmas and issues through scientific and technological advancements, the lack of emphasis on the importance of morality and ethics actually hinders us from advancing for the reason that this deficit is the root cause of a number of moral problems in the society. The lack of moral choices and ethical decision-making led to the pervasiveness of issues within the systematic convention of our society that we, ourselves established in order to ‘solve’ our own dilemmas. The systems that we have incorporated in our day-to-day lives focus only on the technical aspect of our society’s problems instead of looking at the possible shortcomings rooted from the lack of moral decision-making. Not only does this affect the society as a whole, but it also affects all forms of human life. Furthermore, the society’s motivation is selfish in nature due to the fact that it mainly focuses on personal benefit rather than for the benefit of others. Likewise, the modern society upholds tarnished ideologies about what is moral that goes against Aristotle’s proposed ethics. In short, the people of today are living our lives for the wrong reasons. A deficit on the exercise of morality and intellectual virtues among political identities could be an explicit depiction of this dilemma.
