Plus, the amount of times I have raised my hand in class to ask questions and have been ignored is ridiculous. I, a student who wants help, so why are you not helping me?? How do some teachers expect the best out of their students when they do not even offer to help them. That unmotivates me to do my work, that is the exact opposite of what teachers are supposed to do. Why should I care if my teachers do not? Also, why are teachers allowed to be lazy, but students cannot? Students are assigned loads of homework every week and they all have a due date. Is late work allowed? Most of the time it is accepted but there are points deducted off the assignment. Yet, teachers can go weeks without upgrading the gradebook or handing back homework and
Teachers and staff get tired of hearing us
This can be done instead with classroom management and student engagement strategies. For example, if a student is skipping class, then the student receives a phone call the same day. Then a staff member will get in contact with the student, and determine why the student was absent and then issue a detention for his or her unexcused class absence. He also mentions how the school has changed the way teachers grade homework. The teachers no longer grade homework based on completion but now on accuracy, and the following day the teachers give quizzes based on the assigned homework from the previous night to guarantee that the students fully understand the concept before taking the summative
Where one may see it as an absense, a just a day they missed a worksheet that can be picked up and finished the following day. is a direct waste of money for all those who have to pay for the education – and such people are the majority. also a complete sign of utter disrespect to those who do not have to luxury to encounter this free education that sets them up for life Students who skip classes are more likely to get lower grades and face a biased attitude from their teachers leading to a miserable year because teachers have the power to do so; moreover, they have lower chances to successfully graduate, and enroll in a college – of any type. Such students are also more likely to live on a welfare, and get engaged in antisocial behavior. Therefore, this problem should be treated and enforced with discipline consequences with all possible attention from teachers, parents, and
What will it take for me to be successful in high school is hard work, determination, and concentration. What I mean by this is I will do my to not only pass in high school but succeed and overachieve. I want this because I'll never like to be second and that includes high school to. I believe that second is never remembered and don't get the same opportunity as a person in first so that motivates me to do my best. This means that in high school I have to learn how to adapt to that environment especially since I'm expected to be a student athlete which is going to be two times harder but it will work out if I learn how to manage myself and require zero tolerance, now what I mean by this is that I'm going to have to step up to another level, I have to stay focus on my work and football.
Which causes them to have to meet yet another unfair expectation to catch their students up to standards. Taking this time to catch students up is causing them to have another reason to feel overwhelmed and overworked A teacher should not have to have three people's workload and still get the same amount of expectations done for each group of students. I have interviewed multiple teachers in and out of the classroom about the difficulties of being an educator in today's society. I asked them all the same question, “What are your personal difficulties of being a teacher?” The first teacher who answered said her mental health was the worst part and working a high-maintenance job didn't help.
I wrote this book because teachers sometimes neglect our right to rest and leisure when they give overflowing amounts of homework which is against article 24 of the universal declaration of human rights. Thank god for SS! My book provides acceptable reasons on why students shouldn’t be given homework. In fact, they are backed up by science and research which makes my work credible. If you guys are curious on what makes my work so
But this does not mean that they should be given endless stacks of homework. By this, I mean when they are given a lot of homework for the next day, the student will gets upset and do not want to go to school because he doesn 't want punishment for what he couldn 't do. This is my personal opinion. Homework is a never-ending conflict at school, the students want less homework but the teachers have to give them the homework, so they can study at home. Lastly, I would say a student needs time to learn but also time to play and relax and to enjoy life with his family and
They need time to grade exams and finalize grades from the previous semester, and they only have a short break between school years (Towler). By the time they do this, they might have less than a week to prepare themselves, their lessons, and their rooms (Towler). This is not an adequate amount of time for the teachers and it could impact students learning as well (Towler). Teachers also might have a hard time collaborating with each other because many of them are on different tracks (Towler). Students on different tracks might be learning completely different, or maybe even opposite lessons due to lack of collaboration between their teachers (Towler).
Many officials at these schools say that not having a long 3-month break "helps keep students' minds
For many years, a question has been ask trillions of times throughout the homes of families. What are you going to do after High School? Everyday you hear many different answers and bunch of different lectures of what you should and what shouldn’t you do. Having many honorable mentions such as Steve Jobs, Dave Thomas, or Kevin Rose shows that college after high school is not the only option. Four-Year Universities are not practical choice for most Americans students after High School because of the lack of preparation for a college education,Student are pressured that having a college degree is the only way to maintaining a stable financial life , and A college degree doesn 't pay off for years .
Sounds like an ideal afternoon right? If only all schools never gave homework. Homework is used in a lot of countries and in others there isn’t any. Some people believe it helps improve grades and scores. Others think kids should not have homework because it doesn’t help them and use standardized tests to support them.
“What do we live for if its not to make life less difficult for each other?” Many of us students struggle throughout High School with parents getting divorced, loosing a loved one, teenage pregnancy, and family issues etc. These obstacles shouldn’t get in the way of continuing with life and furthering in our education and future. No one has it easy that’s why being a mentor for students my age and younger meant a difference in the world. Making it a little easier for students not to always see the bad was my goal.
The teachers are storing information into their student’s minds. The students are expected to memorize what they are being told and can recall when they are asked to. Student’s don’t argue or question what they are being told, they just
In college you have more assignments to do that are manly on the students own time. Students will be given assignments to finish and are required to keep up with when work is due. College students are usually given a rubric to abide by in the beginning of the course that’ll include the assignments that’ll be given throughout the semester, requirements of the student depending on the professor, and which days that there will be a test/exam. It is not by any means the professors’ responsibility to remind students of due dates and course criteria nor do majority of them do so just out of generosity. In high school, course work and assignments will usually be done before the end of class and during class.
Some do not take their classes seriously, and they have a mindset that they are just there because they have to be there. (I do not know how to explain that better). But I think it’s very important that a student studies hard and he or she should not make excuses when they do not get their work turned in on time. There is a due date for a reason! We are in college, we should not be coming up with lame excuses and giving our professors hard times.
