Motivation In Cam's 'Copper Devil'

One character in The Crucible that shows fear and expectation as a motivation is John Proctor. John Proctor shows fear when Elizabeth displays depression, he wants Elizabeth to trust him that he loves her and does not love Abigail. John tells the court that he committed lechery for a couple reasons. The first is so Elizabeth will trust him again and the second is so that the courts stop believing Abigail. John wants Elizabeth to know that he loves her and he would do anything to prove it, he also wished the courts would stop trusting Abigail.

Throughout the short story “Confessions” by Gloria D. Miklowitz, the main character JJ, was faced with some tough decisions to make. Starting off the book, JJ had to make the decision to join Danny’s club in the first place. He did not want to join the club at beginning the story because he didn’t want to be like the other gangs making trouble, but he was eventually talked into joining along with Bruno and Carlos who immediately agreed to join. He also joined to protect his little sister. After the “Protectors” had been established, they planned their first strike.

Bilbo shows courage when he saves the dwarves from the Spiders and wood elves. A courageous person is someone who is brave, smart, and willing to fight for a cause. Bilbo proves to be all of these examples when he saves the dwarves. He shows bravery when he throws rocks at the giant spiders and smartness because he found a way to get the giant spiders to leave. He also proves to be smart when he uses the barrels to escape the wood elves.

The main character in the book, “ Knights of the Hill Country”, is Hampton Greene, the star linebacker of the Kennisaw Knights football team. Hampton has two motivating factors throughout the story. One, to give Kennisaw their fifth straight undefeated season and two, to stay out of trouble so he can get a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. The first motivating factor Hampton has throughout the story is to give the small town of Kennisaw their 5th straight undefeated season. Hampton realizes that he is extremely crucial to the town, and wants to make history and go down as a Kennisaw great.

While at his job, a cashier in a supermarket, he sees three girls wearing bikinis walk in. The story continues and shows how his obsession with the “leader” of the group, while also showing how his feelings change over time. Sammy’s original feelings of being shy changing to a more hero-like feel near the end of the story show how his change throughout the story.

Character Motivation in The Crucible; Vengeance and Desire Imagine growing up in a Puritan society, constantly having to follow the strict and normally harsh religious rules that were at the very core of the Puritan life. You would think that the townspeople of Salem would have a mindset to obey all the strict rules, due to the fact that they were threatened by the looming presence of the noose. This was not so in the case of The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller. All things considered, the character motivation was completely different from what you would expect from a Puritan society.

What is an actual hero? The word hero is similar to a metaphor, meaning it has many meaning depending on who you ask. Most of the time the answer has something to deal with a super hero, something nonfiction, or when it is fiction it is someone rich and famous. Although, no all the time does it mean that a person saved someone or someone had a dramatic imprint on the world, creating a life changing event. A hero can simply be someone who went through life, through difficult obstacles, never giving up, showing an example of bravery and loyalty.

After a three-hour bus ride, surrounded by strangers, I arrived at Camp Pendleton. As I stepped off the bus immediately trapped by three drill instructors screaming in my face, I knew I had made a grave mistake. My experiences at Camp Pendleton’s Devil Pups were some of the most challenging, yet rewarding life skills I have encountered. Upon arrival, I felt as though I didn’t belong, lacking the discipline, purpose, and physical strength that many of my peers had. However, Devil Pups taught me the value of perseverance and, as a result, has contributed to my transformation into the person I am today.

Hysteria Throughout life, many instances arise where courage, strength, and valor are needed to complete the task at hand; whether it be Superman, Batman or the Green Lantern, there are many men that show these traits when the face their enemies. When these men face their own personal challenges, each one goes to battle with many strengths and many weaknesses that threaten their lives. These men, when they are faced with possibly the thing that could potentially kill them in battle; they must choose how they react to the pressure that builds up in their lives. Likewise, Samuel Parris, John Hale, and John Proctor are heroes in the book entitled the Crucible; they must put aside their lives and their integrity to be able to tell the truth despite the morbid circumstances surrounding them. These men, and the way that they were able to cope with the pressure put in front of them, to the point of death, is really what

Courage is the ability to face a fear, pain, or a difficult obstacle in life. Many individuals have great qualities, but not many have courage. Having courage can give you the ability to stand up for yourself and others. Another great ability that courage gives you is the ability to express yourself and what you think is wrong or right. Being courageous also makes you fearless which means you’ll accomplish any goals you have set for yourself.

My most memorable moment running track was track sectionals at Beaver Dam. If we would get 3rd place or better, we would move on to run state track. One of the most glorified events in track and field is the 4 by 400 meter relay. I was lucky enough to be a part of it. The reason the 4 by 4 race is the most glorified event is because it is the most intriguing to watch.
