Throughout the short story “Confessions” by Gloria D. Miklowitz, the main character JJ, was faced with some tough decisions to make. Starting off the book, JJ had to make the decision to join Danny’s club in the first place. The main character in the book, “ Knights of the Hill Country”, is Hampton Greene, the star linebacker of the Kennisaw Knights football team. Hampton has two motivating factors throughout the story. One, to give Kennisaw their fifth straight undefeated season and two, to stay out of trouble so he can get a scholarship to the University of Oklahoma. The first motivating factor Hampton has throughout the story is to give the small town of Kennisaw their 5th straight undefeated season. Character Motivation in The Crucible; Vengeance and Desire Imagine growing up in a Puritan society, constantly having to follow the strict and normally harsh religious rules that were at the very core of the Puritan life. You would think that the townspeople of Salem would have a mindset to obey all the strict rules, due to the fact that they were threatened by the looming presence of the noose. This was not so in the case of The Crucible, written by Arthur Miller. All things considered, the character motivation was completely different from what you would expect from a Puritan society.
What is an actual hero? The word hero is similar to a metaphor, meaning it has many meaning depending on who you ask. Most of the time the answer has something to deal with a super hero, something nonfiction, or when it is fiction it is someone rich and famous. Although, no all the time does it mean that a person saved someone or someone had a dramatic imprint on the world, creating a life changing event. A hero can simply be someone who went through life, through difficult obstacles, never giving up, showing an example of bravery and loyalty.
After a three-hour bus ride, surrounded by strangers, I arrived at Camp Pendleton. As I stepped off the bus immediately trapped by three drill instructors screaming in my face, I knew I had made a grave mistake. My experiences at Camp Pendleton’s Devil Pups were some of the most challenging, yet rewarding life skills I have encountered. Upon arrival, I felt as though I didn’t belong, lacking the discipline, purpose, and physical strength that many of my peers had. However, Devil Pups taught me the value of perseverance and, as a result, has contributed to my transformation into the person I am today.

Courage is the ability to face a fear, pain, or a difficult obstacle in life. Many individuals have great qualities, but not many have courage. Having courage can give you the ability to stand up for yourself and others. Another great ability that courage gives you is the ability to express yourself and what you think is wrong or right. Being courageous also makes you fearless which means you’ll accomplish any goals you have set for yourself.
My most memorable moment running track was track sectionals at Beaver Dam. If we would get 3rd place or better, we would move on to run state track. One of the most glorified events in track and field is the 4 by 400 meter relay. I was lucky enough to be a part of it. The reason the 4 by 4 race is the most glorified event is because it is the most intriguing to watch.
