It is very important to note that human resource (HR) function has played a very significant role in organizations. Every organization success depends on the kind of HR they have. Although many new HR concepts have been introduced, the actual roles and duties of HR professionals have not change much until recent years.
Pfau and Kay (2002) stated that the business case for human resources management has been accumulating over a period of time, and that their study has proven that higher HR practices determines financial results. S (1994), stated that there are two types of motivation, the first is intrinsic and the second is extrinsic. In extrinsic, it refers to rewards or encouragements that are given to an employee for the successful completion of duties and responsibilities that are assigned. such rewards may come in the form of increment in salaries, bonus etc. for example at my work place each staff is given targets at the beginning of each year so if at the end of the year you are able to achieve your set target and how you are graded by your supervisor, you are either given a promotion or salary increment and this has gone a long way to motivate us to work harder in order to achieve our yearly target. There are several motivation factors that alleviates employee turnover in an organization but the best among them is the problem solving of employees given by Gradle Gardner,( 2009).this is because if their problem could be solved then there will not be any need to leave the organization.
First of all one needs to know the reason behind the employee leaving the organization as they might not be satisfied with their working conditions or not satisfied with even the work that they are doing. . This may be in term of self-management, development, creativity etc. secondly, the responsibilities of the employee needs to be increased to give the employee full satisfaction of their job. For example, they should be allowed to make meaningful contributions concerning their job schedule as this might increase productivity and turnaround time for work
