The cable car operator finishes his shift and drops Mrs.Sommers off at the last stop of the day. Mrs.Sommers checks to see if she left her belongings in the cable car before she departs. There was a clear, white moon on the cold rainy day. She started to walk to her house focusing in her head about what her children were going to say when she walked in. Mrs.Sommers said to herself, “What will they say when I have no gifts for them”? She ignored the question in her head and continued to walk to her house. Mrs.Sommers arrives at her home. Before she could open the door, her children come running out and hug her. With anticipation in her children's’ eyes, Mrs. Sommers orders them to go back inside, in a strict tone. It seemed to the children that their mother ordered them to bed because of the time. The children hurry upstairs to their rooms and Mrs.Sommers sits down on the couch and feels regretful for her actions. Mrs. Sommers contemplates about the day and how she enjoyed all of it and how her children received none of that joy. She falls asleep and has a dream throughout the night.
Mrs.Sommers children grow up and her eldest son is in high school while the other three children are in middle school. The eldest son became a factory worker that had very hard conditions to be working there. Mrs.Sommers is working two jobs as a maid and a tailor, but her children do not know. Mrs. Sommers would go to help out her neighbors by cleaning their floors or try to help them tailor their clothes if they were too baggy and loose. One evening, Thomas noticed that his mother was not at the house and had been gone longer than before. He checked all around the house and could not find his mother so he went along the neighborhood to find her.
As he moved from one mill town to another he adds a new family members Alice and Anna. They moved to homestead where they worked in steel mill. She eventually just tried to close up her wound by duct-taping gauze to the back of her head. Keeping her kids calm she goes on to tell a story about a girl who fell down a well and had to wait a week to get help, relating the story to herself. The boys went to sleep, while the woman tried to keep herself awake by reading ‘Alice in Wonderland’ but she ended up falling asleep herself. The next day came and it had felt like forever since her husband had been back. The boys continued to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while playing the game uno all afternoon.
As I arrived at the house, I noticed that the father was not home. Margaret, Cedric, and Ladreka was at the house; Margaret was sitting on the floor with her head in her hands and the kids were running around playing. Entering the door, I noticed how angry Cedric looks as he is chasing his sister. Ladreka seems to not want to be bothered by her brother, but Cedric continues to chase her around the house as he is trying to slap and kick her. I also noticed how worn out and drained the mother looks as she is sitting on the floor.

The Novel ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee was very informative. It included two unique characters, Tom Robinson and Bob Ewell. Tom Robinson was one of the best characters in my opinion. Bob Ewell was not one of the best. Tom and Bob are similar in many ways.

The Jungle is the story of Jurgis Rudkis and his family. They immigrated from Lithuania to find a better life in America. Their story is a one of tragedy, suffering and poverty.
