Italy, as one of the founder country of European Union (EU), had bring a huge contribution toward Europe and global economy. Among the contributions, agriculture sectors from Italy consist a big portion in Europe economy. First of all, Italy has a good landscape that suitable for many kinds of agriculture activities. There are approximately 37% of land in Italy is use as agriculture sector production. In 2001, about 5% of the labour force in Italy was in the agricultural sector. Besides that, the government of Italy and European Union also play a dominant role to support Italy agriculture sector with policy like Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which associate agriculture sector in Italy with their production, subsidies is

In practice, the EU doesn’t have to make any commitment to any single definition of multi functionality but has accepted a very wide definition which each country can adapt to their own priorities. The Italy government and EU policies both played an important role to support the multi functionality agriculture in Italy. First of all, the CAP is the main policy concern about the agriculture sector in Italy. The CAP has been a major driver of the development of the multi functionality agriculture of rural area in Italy with two connected themes which are the provision of public goods from agriculture and the development of agricultural-rooted “non-conventional” agricultural activities (Davide Viaggi 2011). In addition, EU also provide some policies and program to support the multifunctional agriculture, for example, the policies under the national policies like Evaluating Multifunctional Agriculture Policies which is use for the measurement and evaluate different rural growth policies. The TOP-MARD project had developed a list of outcome pointers to define the effects of different policies on the sustainability of a region. In the European context, especially the more developed country like Italy, the essential energy-saving structures of multifunctional agriculture has been concern. A study says that a rise of usage of manure, which is a usual part of traditional, small-scale farming performs, could have a considerable beneficial effect in carbon sequestration equivalent to ca. 25% of the total carbon emissions of the United States (GRAIN 2009). Energy savings and carbon sequestration will give a larger implication in short term and long term future for the ecosystem in Italy which directly related to the social and environment for Italy
The policies and procedures should reflect any environmental changes as well as operational for an accurate analysis of the
The people of Italy and Mussolini himself wanted to boost Italy’s national prestige. Their prestige had been damaged during the first Italian-Ethiopian War when Italy became the first European country to lose to an African nation. Italy’s modernized military allowed for a swift victory. The win over Ethiopia allowed Mussolini to rebuild Italy with the natural resources that the country had available (Document 6). Benito Mussolini gained the support of many Italians from his encouraging and motivating
When considering Italy after its formation as nation-state in the late 19th century, it has never been required to change by other countries. However, throughout the entire history Italian territory has faced many invasion and battles which have influenced it. But unfortunately, this country has also been involved in cruel events for the purpose of conquering new lands. Some of the most recent terrible actions done by this country were the conquest of African colonies during the Fascism. Indeed, the purpose of these mission in Africa were to destroy other countries such as Libya and Eritrea in order to provide benefits to Italians.
The Civil War had already ended when agriculture began to develop, bringing about changes across the country, particularly in the West. American agriculture began in rural regions that were urbanized, resulting in a surge of people in the fields and cities where employment and hard labor were supplied manually. It has grown significantly as a result of advanced economic and social changes towards its industrialization for expansion. It increased production among the families of farmers, who served through hard and difficult situations. Throughout the period of 1865-1900, American agriculture changed rural inhabited areas, expanding prospects for migration and urbanization, industrialization growth with advanced machinery, and evolved farming
“The vision of a huge fertile garden extending from the Appalachians to the Pacific Ocean had inspired Americans since the early days of the republic” (Out of Many - A History of the American People, pg. 622). Since its beginning, the American ways of farming had always been gradually evolving, but in the time between 1865 and 1900, it transformed like never before. The American tradition of agriculture would experience dramatic changes, as the growth of production and agribusiness would ensue from revolutions in technology, massive increase in population, and alterations in government policies. A major factor in changing the way of agriculture was the new technology being developed in farming and transportation.
Through these struggles Italians would thrive through the strength they found within their families. Southern Italy was very different from the North, The North was prosperous and full of culture. “Southern Italy was ruled by Spanish monarchy and was drowning in poverty”. The south sought unity with the north and believed they would find relief from the oppression of Spain. Unfortunately, the unity of
This all proves that the Italian culture is defined by their strong values. The unity of their values is what makes them so strong. It all starts with that first commitment and not one could exist fully without the others. If it means having a dozen people over for Sunday lunch, inviting a stranger over for a meal every chance possible, or taking a two hour lunch break to spend time with friends and family, I think that Italians have the right idea. I believe that Americans use to have some of these same values and maybe some still do, but they are not always prioritized correctly.
The 19th century was a time of unification and centralization for the countries of Italy and Germany. Unification was a very controversial subject in Italy at the time because people’s opinions varied with residency, social class, religious affiliation, gender, occupation, and ideological outlook. Residency, occupation, and political power affected the point of views of the authors the most in the documents. Besides the debate of whether or not Italy should be unified, questions regarding how Italy would become centralized or why Italy should not be unified were a major factor when determining the future of Italy. For example, if Italy were to be unified, would the political system be a republic or monarchy.
Italian Unification DBQ Unification of Italy was a long and convoluted process compared to other nations of Europe. After many of the nations of Europe have banded together to form nation states there were only a couple of countries that have not unified. When the people of Italy decided that it was time to unify their country, there were many different ideas of what a unified Italy would look like. Among the ideas of Italian unification there were three major figures that each had their own ideas on the unification of Italy.
The agency of European Environment (EEA) had described the indicators as: parameters or value which derived from the parameters describe the environment situation and its impact to the human beings, material and ecosystem, the pressure on environment, driving forces and responses which steer that system. An indicators that have been selected The effect on the surround environment by social, ecological, economic, etc. called sustainability. Sustainability makes the people to be able to reduce/control the effects on planet, save resources, save money, protect plants, lands, animals and humans.
The environment is being polluted because of all the manure. First, the idea of what factory farming is going to be addressed. What really is a factory farm? Factory farming is an operation where over 99% of farm animals are raised, so that we can eat meat. Factory farms consist of 500 head of beef cattle, 500 dairy cows, 1,000 hogs (pigs), and 100,000 egg laying chickens.("What's Wrong With Factory Farms?"
Finally, government policy is another issue farmers face. The farmers have to make sure that they are in the government 's regulations for the
The agricultural technology that was invented during the medieval ages resulted in social and economic developments which affected the lives of those living in that period. The new machinery allowed the townspeople to grow a surplus of food and in result learn new specialties and trades. “When these people could produce a surplus, they were freed to do other things, which provided the basis for towns, cities, and civilization”( flowofhistory.com). Civilian life was made more comfortable because of the advancements that were made through the ages.
Fertilizers remove the nutrients of the soil damaging the soil and the local environment and after being mixed with the soil, gradually reduce the fertility of the soil. In the study of (Southland) using fertilizers consists of substances and chemicals like methane, carbon dioxide, ammonia, and nitrogen, the emission of which has contributed to a great extent in the quantity of greenhouse gases present in the environment. These facts are alarming and a serious step needs to be taken as soon as possible to avoid more severe consequences. This in turn is leading to global warming and weather changes. The use of fertilizers for growth and cultivation is keeping our stomach filled for now, but then if things keep on progressing the way they are, it won’t take long to see the times where there is lack of food, water, and health.
One of the foundations of sustainable development is efficient environmental management (UNEP 2002). However, balancing the needs of current generations without compromising the environment for future generations poses to be quite problematic. A number of environmental decision-making instruments have been developed in an attempt to ensure that development is sustainable. One of the most popular of these is environmental impact assessment (EIA). This essay will be based on the strengths and limitations of an Environmental Impact Assessment.
